I do not understand why some people can not understand this point. It seems disingenuous to me to have someone say that you are ruining someone else’s fun if they can not have their preferred class OP.
Even Free appeared to support LordFluffy call to nerf necromancer’s thorn build that is being implemented in patch 2.6.7. (see the quotes and linked thread in post #160)
That is absolutely insane if you understand the implication of what you are suggesting here.
You are suggesting that instead of nerfing 3 or 4 OP builds, ALL OTHER BUILDS should be buffed, like manually. That is like how many builds you wanna have buffed? 10? No, there are definitely more. 20? 30? 40? Yeah, maybe that is a somewhat appropriate number, but it also could be more, much more… maybe even a few hundred builds.
So you guys talk here about how the devs currently only have a limited amount of resources available and then you suggest that instead of nerfing a few builds, they shall actually buff at least a few dozen builds? That is very much employing a double standard.
And furthermore, yes, nerfing the OP builds might feel bad for some players for a while, but first that bad feeling will only last for a while, and secondly compared that to the players of all the other builds who had to continue to suck and how they would feel and had to continue to feel when their builds suck and would continue to suck.
I don’t have to. The 140 clear by a 10.5k paragon barb was 6 GR behind a wiz 146 clear with a build that’s not being nerfed. That tells me barb rend build is not OP.
I just checked. Devil @11,538 paragons in the EU region only cleared a GR 130 with wizard. I think that this shows that just because you are high paragon that does not mean that you reach the upper limit of a build. I wonder if this might also apply to darkpatator who took less than 24 hours to clear 140 on his second woods map without an equipped flavor of time or the use of a power pylon for the rift guardian.
And they will continue to suck, unless they get buffed!
Thing is, all this show you are putting up are pointless. All this is based on a single 140 clear in PTR, this proves nothing. This is time moment the judge actually giggles: is this the evidence? That barbarian MIGHT clear higher if he was using the correct underwear at the moment?
You want to throw some pile of excrement as proof of barbarian being overpowered, and while all my barbros are trying to reason with you I wonder why you bother in the first place. Wizard was 10 GR ahead of barb the last months AND YOU DIDN’T SEE BARBARIANS WHINING TO NERF YOUR #$&!?*
I’m sorry, but anyone asking for a nerf to a build that even hasn’t been tested on live servers is just beyond ridiculous.
How long was Wizard clearing 135-140 GRs. I’ll tell you how long - TWO SEASONS!
How long were people playing with the thorn build before it got nerfed in this PTR?!
Everyone had a chance to play with those builds for months, to check if they’re OP or not and you’re asking to nerf WW Rend based on ONE player from PTR.
If Blizz listens to all of you it would be one of the biggest d1ck moves they have ever done to their community…
Let barbs check how OP thye build really is for at least 2 seasons and stop asking for nerfs just because some Pro Necro (LorFluffy) player did. Even he could actually TEST the build he was asking to be nerfed, for more than just lees than a WEEK.
Why is it so hard to buff at least TWO class sets, their supporting legendaries and maybe allow for ONE LoD build per class to be capable of clearing 135-145 GRs.
Give us bigger build diversity in pushing highiest GRs.
Stop restricting us to max 140-146 solo (as any average player can ever clear it solo anyway)…
Based on what will you determine if they continue to suck or not?
If they suck or not depends not just on these (let’s call them) “average builds” (for now) alone, like in a vacuum, but also in correlation with other builds.
It is not. Nothing that I said in this thread was a direct jab at Barbarians powerlevel with this new build (and I also did not advocate for this specific build to get nerferd) but rather directed towards the idea that things should always get buffed and nothing should ever be nerfed.
One is advocating for a nerf of the Rend/WW (which I didn’t do), the other one is a critique about a premise, an axiom, a philosophy as a whole (the idea that things only should get buffed and never get nerfed - which is what I am talking about here).
I even state this in my first post in this thread:
=============================================
I did never try to “prove that Barbarians are OP” and if I did so, then plz show me where.
All my posts in this thread revolve around the philosophy of “always buff, never nerf” that many of the people in this thread advocate for.
In your mind, what was the purpose of this thread?
The OP was having a heated disagreement with demonmonger in general discussion. In the post that demonmonger made, he reminded the OP that name calling was “extremely rude and disrespectful” and a breach of the ToS. The OP then created a thread in the barbarian forum where he quotes demonmonger and indicates that babrbarians should unite. What was the purpose of uniting?
Was the purpose of this thread to have a respectful conversation to make points/counterpoints or was it something more sinister?
If you read the first 20 posts in this thread, I question the purpose of this thread.
You are also on your way to be hated by the community. Troll label sticks. People remember such cases. Your twisted logic and selective neutrality is not doing you any good. Just stop with your non-sensical analyses. They are just information pollution.
You should revisit your posts with that CoC in mind.
I would pay particular attention to the harrassment section. I I think in relation to you, the worst I have done is screwed up if the “h” in your username is before or after the “a”.
EDIT: The fact of the matter is I value class balance. Always have and always will. If that makes me troll In the eyes of some in the community that is unfortunate, but I learned long ago that there is only one person whose actions you can control and it is yourself. When I look in the mirror, will I think that I took the easiest path or the path of least resistance, or the ethical path.
Why did you make your graphs comparing greater rift efficiency in both the old and new forums? Was it because you too were interested in class balance and relative class strength? I think you to value class balance.
