I know this has been asked and answered many times and I have read through the answers but my question is not answered. I know I have a seasonal character because the leaf is in the upper right of my screen along with the message to go to the altar and gain my birthright. Reading online I see that the altar is in New Tristam between the collector and the fence. However, at that location is the mystic, Myriam and she does not have an altar in her camp. So, if the altar is not there, where else would it be? My character is a monk who just got to level 16.
Switch to Adventure Mode.
Stop playing the campaign. The altar is only available in Adventure Mode.
Duh! Thanks, that was one small detail I had overlooked. Now to find out if my level 16 monk an survive in adventure mode. I know my 70/165 level wizard has little difficulty. Hopefully the monsters still level with your character.
I love D3 campaign. I was so sad when Cain died… what an OLD legend! I must have played it no less than 100 times. And i watched the cinematics every single time!
Adventure mode is not more difficult if you don’t increase the difficulty level.
My monk did his first greater rift and the results were not impressive. A monk has no ranged weapons so has to fight hand to hand. He did not make it by the time limit, died too many times. I did manage to beat the rift guardian, spent most of the time running from it. My wizard has no problem since he can cast spells at a distance and almost always beat the time limit. Have to figure out how to play a monk in a greater rift.
Complete the first four chapters of the season journey for your free set. That will make a huge difference in your damage.
As was said, complete the first four chapters of the season journey to get all of Haedrig’s gifts. Consult build guides for the set on sites like max roll or icy veins. Each build has certain support items that will also boost damage and survivability. The higher the torment level and greater rift level the better the rewards. In no time you should be breezing through T16 and GR90.
I see you just made it to lvl 70 with 12 paragon.
If you were HC I’d give you a hand by running couple dozen gr 100’s to gear up and get close to 600 paragon or so.
Did you use the drop-down box to lower the GR level, or did you just use the default GR13, which is equal to Torment 2 ?
GR13 is often too difficult for the first attempt.
I did not realize the season had chapters. What do I have to do to complete chapters? GR13 was difficult, but since I did kill the rift guardian I guess that GR14 is available. I may downgrade before upgrading. My wizard is far beyond here but he is now encountering difficulties himself.
When you open the GR at the Obelisk, click on GR13. It will open the drop down box and you can scroll down to a lower difficulty.
As to the Journey Chapters, you can either click the box that appears in the Hero select menu, or in game, you can click on the small, green leaf at the upper right, or hit Shift plus ‘J’.
There is no reward for Ch1. Chapters 2, 3, & 4 will reward pieces of the Gift set that will arrive in the mailbox.
You must complete all tasks in a chapter before the next one can complete. The quests do not have to be done in order, though.
The Gift set for Monk this Season is Patterns of Justice. That will make using Tempest Rush much easier, especially since you already have a Won Khim Lau. weapon
Don’t forget, your legendary gems that drop will only give you a 100% chance to upgrade as long as the GR you completed is 10 levels above the gems level to upgrade. So…
Something to keep in mind.
Just want to double check what I have read here. If I do all five quests in each area of the game, that constitutes one chapter? If so, do I have to do them in one sitting? How do I know what chapter I am in? How much longer will this season last? I have read that when the season is over, my character becomes a regular person. Does he keep everything he earned in the season? I know this is a lot of questions but better to get them all asked at once than several messages.
You can easily. I leveled a campaign season Necro but then switched to Monk on adv from level 1.
And as for season journey, anything earned counts when it’s earned. You can have all but finished one part and have already completed most of the next part as well.
Those 5 ‘!’'s you see in each Act are the bounties. Do all 5 in one session, go talk to Tyrael and get the Horadric Cache as a reward.
Open your Season Journey (shift+J). All the objectives for each chapter are listed there. To check the different chapters, use the drop down menu. The objectives can be finished in any order, but you won’t receive that chapter reward until all objectives from previous chapters are completed
Yes, when season ends you hero is converted to non-season. He keeps all his gear earned. Anything in his stash will be mailed to you - you have 30 days to claim it. A few days before season ends, go through your stash and sell or salvage anything you don’t need or want to carry over. All seasonal effects go away, so no double primals, extra power, etc. They may do something to introduce those into non-season, but that remains to be seen.
A level 1 can survive in Adventure Mode - depends on what game difficulty to set it at. First thing, start unlocking your Altar of Rites (if you are just now starting Adventure Mode?).
If you need a hand, I could help out. Finished season and not doing anything else.
Thanks, I will ask if I need more help. The bounties are not required to advance your character, just needed for equipment and money. Only the tasks revealed by shift+j are required, I was not aware of them. Normal rifts I can do well enough so will collect greater rift keys for future use and use at the altar.
You will have to complete all 5 Bounty Acts for Chapter 3.
You only need 1 GR key for the Altar. Run GRs with the others.
I have finished chapter 1 and told I have received a reward. Where do I collect that? One more task for chapter 2, do a rift on expert.
