A Quick Word from Blizzard

Another PTR, another month of silence from the so-called “Community Managers”…well, those who are left anyway. But they are busy blocking people on twitter, so obviously they don’t have time to look after their community

And no, I stand by my word to not let this thread die. Sadly, the blues don’t…

Quick word, how is the slow word?

Yeah they “hear us”. Lol. Patch 2.6.6 totally showed it, nothing changed. Blizzcon is in 14 week, as Nev said, and I expect literally nothing.

Communication with Diablo fan base is a failure, that’s all. It was all in vain because of DI sh**storm. That’s all, they just tried to save the market of Activision.

To be fair, they do “hear” us.

The real problem is that they are unable to make any sense of it and/or are unwilling to partake in such a conversation i.e. listening, interpreting and understanding what the players are saying.

As mentioned above, this is all “noise” to them, nothing more than a necessary evil that’s a part of game development.

well not long now for that not hype, hype video to drop i guess

i can see blizzcon being one of a few things, either immortal gets launched and yet again wyatt will be happy to shout about everyone having phones this year due to the app you have to use to attend.

maybe we will see a diablo 4 hint along with immortal.

or diablo wont get a mention what so ever.

will be interesting to see how they act this year but if we get “dont you have phones” or something like i can see someone launching one at wyatt and braining him for being so condescending to people who have invested thousands in the company over the years.

IF they do have Diablo 4 trailer this year I am only interested in the comments section. I am getting vibes of “Don’t you guys have phones” and “no king rules forever” making a comeback.

10 months of silence, go on blizzard, you can make a whole year without communicating to your fanbase following another massive flop

True story: A work colleague of mine just had her first child today, August 4th (congrats, Danielle!)

Why is this relevant to this discussion? Because for the sake of context, I’d like to point out that I know a person who can LITERALLY CREATE HUMAN LIFE faster than Activision can create a meaningful response to fan feedback.

And yet… Activision has never been more active on the forums. Look at all the blue posts since these boards went live. But, as expected, the tough questions are being ignored. Their mindset seems to be only sycophants are fans and anyone with a criticism or concern is a troll.

They must be hoping China really, REALLY likes the phone game. That’s about the only people who will be left by the time this company is done ostracizing their core fanbase.

With the transfer to the new forums, it is no surprise that they have put more resources into moderation/feedback. Give it a couple of months and it will go back to the way it was with 1 or 2 blue posts a month and troll threads that take a week to be closed.

1 or 2 blue posts a month? lol, what planet did this happen on?

I only saw that much activity on d3 release until the uproars came that d3 was sh1t and shallow and all the bad points pointed out then activity started dying down to pointless crap like ‘whats your favourite icecream?’ & ‘here’s my cat watching me play diablo’ and slowly disappearing, and then again now, other than that, I’ve never seen such a disengaged company with their fanbase, it’s literally a league of it’s own.

Anyways… Back to point, where the f*ck is our update and the resolution to the sh1tstorm you created?

The new forums have been up for 28 days, i.e. less than a month.
There have been 59 blue posts in that time…

How many of them are about future plans?

Can we get a status update on the forges? I Wonder if they exploded from extreme temperatures from having to craft Multiple projects for Diablo. Does Blizzard not have Forges?

I don’t know about forges, but they have been forgING Blizzard’s name on subpar Activision products since 2013.

i said now (as in this month) and d3 release, other than that, they’re wank at communicating. And as someone rightly said above, how many of those 50 odd posts actually contain any substance that the majority actually care and want to hear about?

bump - 10 months blizzard, still waiting

How close to BlizzCon2019 should we expect an update? Was it a month before last time?

It was August last year when they got the hype train rolling with THE FORGES ARE BURNING HOT!!! and MULTIPLE PROJECTS!!!, so if they actually have something of interest this year, it could be any time now. Nev did say she has been busy getting ready for Blizzcon, but she has to do that every year, so that means nothing.
If they actually have something big, you would figure they would have gotten the ball rolling by now. Most likely, they have pitifully little or nothing at all and will keep a low profile until Blizzcon to avoid getting a beat down 2 years in a row.

Blizzcon has long been pushed as being an event for the fans, but after last year I question if thats even true anymore. Immortal isn’t for the fans. Its for China and investors, that much is clear.

And if what Allen Adham said is true, that they have a suite of mobile phone games they’re working on for their IP’s, then they’re going to announce them at Blizzcon too.

So which one will it be this year I wonder. Will WoW get its phone game announcement this year? Overwatch? Will the reaction to Immortal have changed things? Its going to be interesting to see how this will play out.
