A Quick Word from Blizzard

NO. just stop. No company has achived what you propose. Why do you think Actiblizz (one of the greediest companies) could achieve that?

They need to make a mobile version of WoW also.
With the look of the gameplay of DI, I’m positive it will be amazing also.

Are you a troll? Or it just seems to me?

It just seems to you.
I stated my opinion.
A differing opinion than yours does not equal troll.

All that a mobile version of WoW will do is further entrench Blizzard’s position that they are more about the money than they are about the games and the gamers.

You would be utterly foolish to dismiss the negativity surrounding Diablo Immortal.

A mobile version of WoW would be so hamstrung by the platform, that it wouldn’t rememble WoW in the slightest, and people who play and like WoW would resent it to such a degree that I would fear for my own life if I was near someone playing it.

Though, I am oddly curious about this, and you said you’re serious about it. I’d love to hear your ideas on how mythic raiding on an iphone would work. Or flying over orgrimmar with 50 people beneath you. Or pvp, or transmog and battle pets. How many spells and abilities will it have, how will addons work, communication, that sort of thing?

I don’t make the games. I play them.
With their talent in making Diablo in to a mobile game, I would be positive about other Blizzard games that they would transfer to a mobile version.

Apparently, the CM plans to release a blog explaining the future of Diablo 3 per her post in another thread. It’ll be interesting to see if she ends up confirming the article from Kotaku that Diablo 3 is just in maintenance mode, or perhaps maybe they plan to do something substantial with it. On one hand, the game is 7 years old, but on the other…the engine already exists and it’d probably be an easier, cheaper cash-in to throw the community the druid/assassin bone they’ve been begging for.

Either way, as with all things Activision, I’ll believe it when I see it and my expectations are extremely tempered.

My expectation is that we will continue to get Season updates including buffs, occasional cosmetics, item changes, balance changes, and some QoL stuff. I am NOT expecting a new class, especially via a News Blog post. I think the main Diablo team does not handle D3 anymore. Classic team maybe?

If we were to get a new Class it would have been announced at a larger conference or venue, or at least with a major promotion campaign (teasers leading to an announcement). I am not expecting it.

The Incubation team will continue to handle the D:I game, as well as any number of experimental or risky projects that benefit from small team design. Team 3, the main Diablo team, will continue to work on whatever the next big game is, which we won’t hear about until at least Blizzcon.

It’s a long slog until November, but that’s when we will find out some thing that are not rumors.
After the last debacle at Blizzcon I imagine the next one will try and make up for that at least I hope so.

I remember when Titan was hinted/leaked or announced I don’t remember which, it was slated as the true WOW killer, now it’s vaporware.
Makes the decision when to announce a sticky wicket - darned if you do, darned if you don’t.

I don’t really care where they put the money tbh. My concern with RNG lootboxes is just with the entire legality of it and the morality of enticing children to be addicted at gambling. If these games can’t be accessed by children, I wouldn’t care one way or another. I’d just look at the game as an online casino.
Gambling is a highly regulated business and casinos need a license before they can operate. Somehow, games have found a way to circumvent this and introduce the general public to gambling (which is addictive and pernicious). Any game which ties its RNG mechanics to purchases is in essence a gambling game, and should be classified as a gambling company and be regulated as such.

Maybe, maybe not. I give them no credit on how to make a proper announcement, so while I expect nothing, I also rule nothing out. It’d be a bizarre choice to announce a new class for a game now handled by the classic team, but…bizarre choices seem to be a hallmark of theirs recently.

Meh. It’s just fun to speculate since speculation is all we’ve had for months.

Thanks for revealing yourself.

Revealing myself?
I stated that more mobile versions of Blizzard games would be good.

I revealed my opinion and nothing else.

But, you’re welcome any way. :+1:

Ok, so I’ll play the “tear-your-posts-apart” game, seeing as you’re playing the “little-innocent-me” game.

You started off with extreme hyperbole, claiming Immortal will be the best mobile game ever released, which flies in the face of logic because we know so little about it. You were also deliberately incendiary, by saying Blizzard is “the best gaming company with its hand on the pulse of consumers”. Again, flying in the face of logic, because everyone knows the state of Blizzard right now and the last thing they could be credited with is understanding their consumers. Afterall, Blizzcon was a triumph. Right?

Nobody replied to your post, so you tried again. This time you changed tack, upped your game and cast your net further with nonsense about WoW on mobile claiming it will be “amazing also”.

Somebody asked you if you were trolling. (Uh oh, people are getting suspicious). You start toning down the hyperbole. Now you just feel “positive” about Blizzards efforts on mobile, whereas before it was “omg they’re the best company ever”. The problem with trolls is this. They don’t know where to draw the line. They always screw it up by giving themselves away.

All you have to do, is encourage them to speak.

Revealing myself?

I hope there’s no lightning storms where you’re at with that cute little tin foil hat you’re wearing.
You can tear any post apart you want and try to take someone’s opinion that differs from yours as a trolling post. You just seem very obsessive that people who look on Blizzard in a positive light are trolling and just enjoy their games being trolls.
Go out in to the big world and realize that there are a LOT of people with opinions that differ from yours. You might get used to it eventually.
I stated “With the look of the gameplay” I didn’t say that I played it. I was using my opinion on what little I know about it and the gameplay that was advertised.
Pick apart my post some more.

It’s cute. :+1:

This ended yesterday. There’s nothing left.

So, I’ll just take the rather obvious troll-bait, but here’s your fish I guess:
While you might think of Activision Blizzard (Blizzard as we knew it doesn’t exist anymore) as the best gaming company ever, what do you think of Netease, who provided the engine and gameplay to D:I? (You can watch Videos about their other iso-ARPGs, no Mana, Cooldowns, three Skills + a basic attack, the gameplay is virtually identical)

And what do you think about microtransactions with gameplay effect, that inadvertently has a negative impact on the experience on players who don’t want to continually pay small amounts to be able to progress properly?
