800 Player paragon cap needs to be clarified

so I am looking at the leaderboards and inspecting monk solo players and I am seeing their paragon above 800, for example JT0429 the top solo monk is 832, is this a bug?

If it is not a bug then is the following accurate:

Every Paragon level rewarded a player with core stats such as strength, dexterity, intelligence, and vitality in amounts similar to what they’d gain from a normal level, and 3% magic and gold find.

If this is the case what exactly is the point of the 800 cap?

You only get points for 800 of those paragon levels. Your paragon levels can keep going up, but you aren’t awarded any points after 800.

Have you tested this after 800? Also why didnt they set the cap to 800, what is the point of having a cap you can’t cap?

I guess perhaps because higher paragon levels might indicate a player has better gear. I don’t know; they didn’t really explain why they allowed paragon levels to keep going after 800 even though the points cap there. If it were up to me, I would stop at 800.

But yes, this has been thoroughly tested and it’s common knowledge at this point.

“But yes, this has been thoroughly tested and it’s common knowledge at this point.”

Obviously its not, I asked in game quite a few people and they had no idea and nether did I. I agree tho it should just stop at 800 and why it doesn’t I feel like it might have something to do with just being lazy again.

Im 815 at season end. You can only spend 800 worth of paragon, but you can go as high as you want

You asked a question, he gave you the answer and you do not believe him, next.

I mean fair enough. Maybe not common knowledge among people who don’t follow the game closely and just launch it when a season starts.

It’s common knowledge among people who follow the game a bit. This was pretty straightforwardly answered in the PTR by playing it.

Ahh you must be one of those special trolls who try to start with everyone you can. At no time did I state i didn’t believe him and in fact agreed with him, you would know this if you had actually read the reply before running your mouth. It is clearly obvious with your almost 10000 posts you have no life and most likely post useless comments non-stop like the one you just made.

Ya the question isn’t with regards to paragon points, it is the stats you get on a base level that I was asking about. I quoted an excerpt from Diablo wiki in the OP about it.

diablo.fandom
.com/wiki/Paragon#:~:text=If%20one%20took%20into%20account,3%25%20magic%20and%20gold%20find

I only went to approx 350 in the PTR but I never heard anyone talking about it there ether, but thanks for the clarification because it totally looks sus.

You clearly didn’t believe the answer. Instead you immediately become agressive, insulted and insulting.

How on earth is asking if someone has tested something considered aggressive or insulting? Are you delusional?

aggressive

aggressive behavior
b

an aggressive fighter
2

5

aggressive chemotherapy

Insulting
adjective
: giving or intended to give offense : being or containing an insult

Go back to school you clearly need to.

Presumably it keeps going after 800 so it can transfer properly to Non-season afterward.
But it also means the few people who care about such a thing, can still chase a number going up.

That could be a possibility.

That only shows that you don’t know what’s going on with the paragon system this season and that you don’t seem to believe that there is a cap. The agressiveness etc. is in your answer to Avalon:

No sense changing the whole leveling system when this cap is temporary, it goes past 800 because it’s always gone past 800 since the beginning of RoS.

Y’all really think this 800 cap is going to stick?? It’s super bad for longevity and NS wouldn’t have it anyway. Much easier work for dev to just lift temporary distribution in paragon after season ends then re-introduce levels past 800 again.

LOL, first that is not aggressive. Second he was clearly trolling and I know for a fact there is a cap as stated in the OP; however, in Blizzard fashion they have made mistakes when there shouldn’t be when it comes to something as simple as a cap. Last, go back to previous post and re-read the definitions because they may benefit as you clearly don’t understand the words you are choosing. If you had said direct, straight forward or maybe even abrupt you may have been correct but alas you were not.

Sadly no. But it should.
Make paragon character-bound next patch.

I didn’t find it aggressive. People believe all sort of things that aren’t rooted in anything other than rumor. He just wanted to dispel the idea that perhaps I heard it through the grapevine. Nothing wrong with that. It’s just due diligence.

You do not gain stats past level 70 through paragons. With every paragon you are awarded with points to spend in paragon for stat ups. Traditionally, other 3 tabs except core will be maxed at 800 paragon. Core tab doesn’t have a cap and hence high paragons have advantage on low paragons through Main stats.

The cap of paragon this season is to cap this power. Paragon / Xp gained after 800 simply provides incentives to farm and play when at end of season, transfers to non season. Whether 800 or 8000, the power from paragon is the same this season. The difference is how you spend the points to maximise them.
