Do you really mean that, or do you really mean borderless windowed mode?

nope, im just dumb and typed the wrong thing rofl… fixing now…

The game already has a borderless windowed mode. It’s what I use.

mine doesnt. it only has windowed and full screen.

Yes. With the amount of crap you have to look up outside of the game, being able to seamlessly move the cursor to another monitor would be extremely nice.

Hmm, I just double checked. It doesn’t say it is borderless windowed but that is how fullscreen is working.

Real fullscreen has a delay when you alt tab because it does not render your background.

Fullscreen exclusive mode doesn’t even exist in DX12. It says fullscreen, but it’s really borderless windowed mode.

i use 3 monitors, if i have full screen set, i cant move my mouse off the screen and i have to alt tab.

That’s not the same thing as full screen mode. That’s the program locking the mouse into the window specifically to prevent what you want to do. I’m not sure if you can turn that off either though.

You can, click the button that looks like </> and it will add a line that says “preformatted text”.
Copy the link into that.

Windowed mode IS borderless windowed mode…

windowed mode has borders along the edges of the window. borderless is seemless. its an issue for someone with multiple monitors.

yeah id really love windowed fullscreen.

tired of hitting alt-enter everytime i wanna interact with my other monitors.

it gets old fast.

or just a non locked mouse option

That’s because the game is capturing the mouse. That particular function is independent of the screen mode in use.

No, fullscreen is the borderless windowed mode. “Windowed” mode is exactly that - a window with a border.

FWIW, you’ll know if it’s exclusive fullscreen - by its very definition EFS mode blacks out non-primary displays. That’s why it’s called exclusive fullscreen. I wish the game did have that option too so it would remain focus locked. I’ve actually had D2R lose focus twice now when it caused Windows Defender to just outright stop (Steam does this too on CPU/GPU heavy games). At least D2R recovers from the loss of focus more gracefully than say, Star Ocean 4, which will permanently lose controller input capability until you close and restart the client if the app loses focus.

You do know how to hit alt + enter right?
You know a common windows shortcut to do exactly what you are requesting.

That does not prevent focus loss. That’s the issue I’m referring to. ALT+Enter only switches window modes, but does not cause an app to magically become EFS. Additionally, that key combination only works on console windows and some games, not all games. The functionality changed in Windows 10, especially in a DX12 game.

I don’t know what kind of setup yopu have, or what game you are talking about, but I’m talking about D2R. in D2R (you know what forum you’re on right?) the options are Fullscreen and Windowed. “Fullscreen” acts like Fullscreen on any other modern game and mouse captures. Windowed acts like “Borderless Windowed” on any other modern game and does not. Alt + Enter switches between them as it does on yet again… pretty much any other modern game.

Anything else is irrelevant to the conversation.
