Uh, “fullscreen” is borderless windowed. “Windowed” is just that - windowed. The mouse capture event is separate from the window mode. You can easily see that with the classic version of D2/LoD and the Glide wrapper. It has a mouse capture mode for windowed mode that can be toggled. It just happens that it can’t be toggled for D2R as there is no option to do so.
There isn’t a “bordered” windowed mode as far as I can see. Only “borderless” and fullscreen. Do you even own the game?
I agree
It’s such a stupid lazy move from them to not account that in 2021 people might want to use more than 1 monitor lol
Literally sitting here with 3 monitors freely moving my mouse between D2 and this forum… What’s the issue?
It really isn’t how it works.
Since I can post here, yes, I do have the game. And yes, I do know what I’m talking about. You can instantly see for yourself that a border is in fact being rendered. The viewport shrinks slightly when you hit ALT-Enter in order to switch between modes. That’s because of the addition of the border just offscreen. As a result, the in-game render resolution drops slightly to accomodate for the fact that the game must include a border in the render even if it is offscreen. It’s a limitation imposed by the game being locked to the desktop resolution upon starting. I just tested this for myself to verify.
A border you can’t see…
You mean Borderless?
Dude thing has a border… the only thing that matters is if you can see it or not.
Why does it feel like everyone with the Manazon portrait is just 100% trolling.
Congratz for your wizardry but for most people you cannot move your mouse freely between multiple monitors when in full screen
Did you try hitting alt + enter?
In terms of actual modes, it doesn’t matter whether you can see it or not. It’s there. That is why it’s called “windowed” - it is in fact an actual window and behaves as such. Fullscreen does not behave the same way. They designed it this way on purpose.
Either your reading comprehension is absurdly low or you’re being purposely obtuse. I tried both modes, and changed it both ways - via the in-game configuration screen and via ALT-Enter. Both methods behave the same. Fullscreen captures the mouse regardless of how you change into or out of it, and windowed does not, also regardless of how you entered into or out of it.
All you have to do is hit the “Windows” key and it will allow you to drag your mouse to your second monitor without it minimizing the game. No need to Alt + Tab or Alt + Enter.
It’s not the same thing as borderless full screen
What’s so hard for people to understand lol
If poe can do it with their crappy engine why can’t blizzard?
I know it’s not the same thing but I also deal with multiple monitors and find this to be a pain. Just for now, hitting the windows key so I can easily move my mouse to my other monitors is working for me as temporary fix. I agree though, this needs to be addressed.
so, theres a program called windowed borderless gaming, and you can set it up to give you the effect for the most part, it does have tiny white lines around the edges, but its better than the other 2 options.
yes many people pc can not play this on 4k TV. Blizz add it plz
doing this 100% locks my mouse to the screen, if i press it again, the border shows back up AND bleeds onto my other screen.
