why not big stash? will make it bigger next season?
They’re trying to keep classic as close to the original as they can… The classic stash is small.
Now, I think it’s overwhelmingly agreed by the community for quality of life reasons that there should be at least one shared tab to allow easier transfer of items between your own characters… But apparently Blizzard doesn’t think so.
classic d2 was not about item farming, it was about finishing the game (and should remain like that) so why would you need a bigger stash ?
You mean the intention of the developers before release?
Because ever since the release, the community has been about farming better rares and quickly introduced the workaround with muling.
The classic community always disliked the LoD changes, but they always liked the bigger stash
Purists defend bad game aspects with “it’s the intent of the original designers”
But lack a major aspects.
Player behaviour develop by playing the game, D2 has quickly become a hoarder/ collectionner game
the devs have not been there for 20years now, meanwhile the community evolved during this time
Imagine where genre would be if they had not been stubborn with stupid stash restriction
Classic should has implemented some 1.06 features - no synergies and no CDs, no req for uniques, stronger magic/rare affixes, Oblivion Knights in CS and etc etc; all these perks made it FUN!
Stash tabs are obviously needed cuz CL is about magic/rare farming.
no. many ppl play classic over lvl 90 to lvl 97. they like farming
watcha smoking, man?!
d2 was always about itamzz!
That ship already sailed back in LoD when they added synergies to classic. I always found it strange that they cherry picked which aspects they changed about classic instead of either leaving it alone or just adding all the features except act 5 (which is how they handled expansions in D3 and D4)
Maybe there is more than just one ship…
It’s still a weird seacraft that they chose to sail. It’s stuck in a limbo of not being a “true” classic d2 experience but also not being LoD either. Just food for thought
Well using one change as an excuse to change everything else is moot.
And there are plenty who want change just for the sake of change.
It’s not an excuse to change everything else, it’s called a precedent. If some changes are okay, then why would a highly requested one that is almost universally wanted not be?
This is so unfortunate. I’d probably be a classic player if it was pre synergy. I’d at least try it anyway.
I don’t see the point in it the way it is.
Well they quite frankly just destroyed the classic experience with 1.10. So if you already crash and burn it with major changes, you can also do the minor ones.
Your argument here is moot.
1.07 - 1.09 changed things, but it was not completely awful…
OK… You agree with everyone who wants change for the sake of change…
Got it.
A good dose of reading comprehension is in order.
Except in this case, this is a specific mode specifically intended to reproduce the original experinece, in all of its original fun yet flawed glory.
If you want more stash space and want to devote your time to item farming, then you play normal instead of classic.
It doesn’t and isn’t supposed to appeal to every player, and that’s fine. Just leave it alone and don’t play Classic if you don’t like it.
Wrong
- missing tcpip
- Missing hardcoding
- Missing a functioning chat system
- Andy bug normalized
- Terror zones
- Sunder charms
- New runewords
- New recipes
- Balanced skills
- Dclone spawned SP
- Etc
It’s not a remaster
Wrong, original classic experience is:
- no synergies
- no immunities
- no cast delays
- no respec
- no sellable mana pots
- no lvl req for uniques
- OKnights + IMaiden in CS
- strong magic/rare affixes
- and etc etc
Classic is no longer Classic, especialy in D2R, its just more crippled LoD.
Something a lot of people don’t know is that Total Item Count which includes your stash has a direct impact on the PRNG System within the game and how it distributes loot, Stats on the item, Monster types, Monster Quality, and Monster spawn locations.
It could very well be that knowing this the original team was hesitant to add ridiculously large stashes Since so much of the game was designed around item count being a factor.

I agree, unfortunately classic became corrupted by the odd changes like addition of synergies to a mode that never had the. It just doesn’t even feel like classic with those synergies in place.
