I had fewer characters in 1.10 than I made in D2R… and I found the same number of high runes both times (each “time” being about 6 months of play time).
You should say that the patch notes claimed to have higher drop rates. I only observed more middle level runes and the same unacceptable low number of high runes.
(For reference: I found a Cham and a Lo in 1.10, and 2 Ohms in D2R… so still worse off now than it was before for me)
yeah yeah ok, 3-4 days into a new ladder you were somehow farming hell with decent equipment and finding high runes

I played ungodly amount of hours in 1.10 and 1.13 and D2R to have good idea about rune drops and 1.10 was just horrible, I found many HRs in D2R while almost nothing in 1.10.
Yeah the drop rates suck. But to me its an issue specifically around the lack of high quality sets and uniques. Of all the item classes, only a small minority have BIS uniques. So players tend to prefer hunting for runes. Which are hard to find and overpriced on the market. For me… rather spend 10 bucks to buy something than spend 60 days farming… the dopamine schedule is way off and sorry but killing trav 40 000 times loses all novelty and meaning by the 100th run.
I would think that “60 days farming” has produced some gear that you can trade with, anything other than spending real money (feeding botters, and the owner of (un)said website).
That kind of ruins the point if ladders are going to be just 4 months, which isn’t enough time for a proper farming, especially if a person takes a break every now and then to relax.
