Why just not improving drop rate of high runes?

gold has no value.
currently runes are the only way to have ingame currency for very rare BiS items like perfect griffons, perfect Anni etc.
if we increase the rune drop rate (and not item drop rate by the same factor) what will be the ingame currency ?
This will move even more people to JSP.
the drop rate is fine as it is. i had found jah and ber last week. Be patient and your farming will pay off

There are plenty of ways blizzard could change and improve trade. But increasing droprates would be a stupid way, then they would have to make each ladder shorter.

For example they could add a new currency, all set and unique could have a fixed value when you sell a item to vendor you get a amount in the currency. Then that currency could be used to buy or gamble unique/set items you want. (Think heartstone disenchant cards craft cards). I spent 0 sec to come up with this, so of cause there are many better alternatives.

There is so so many ways to do it, if done good enough people will leave JSP.

I read as far as “i’ve only gotten higher than VEX from hell forge” which is a lie, because hell forge doesnt drop anything passed Gul.

Liar.

drop rates are good … i play d2 for years and i never looted hr, highest regular drop was Ist … but bro looted 2x ber ohm vex since the ressurected starts (so i was unlucky or rather bro was very lucky). I think maybe one day i would loot also

I have gotten vex from hellforge a few times in LoD, not yet in D2R tho.

Agreed. I am all for change, but don’t touch the drop rates. That would be the quickest way to ruin a great remake.

How? From the mobs in the hellforge area maybe, but certainly not by smashing Meph soul stone as the max rune that can be dropped is Gul.

I know how it sounds, because everyone everywhere swears its only up to gul, but I am 100% sure that a vex dropped from my hellforge quest a few ladders ago on LoD. It also happened many years ago I’d say around 2011 I was helping my friend with his forge and vex dropped for him. Bug maybe? Idk.

100% sure that your wrong.
Back when LoD just launched there was some talk in chat about people finding all kinds of runes in HF, but that it got nerfed after a few days. I have tried google for information about it but havent found anything.

It feels more likely that your lying, mistaken, a friend prank you or you been too drunk.

that is pretty much what Gold is … and gambling also exists already.
if you can get value from vendor of that currency for items that have NO or close to no value (which are most of the existing items) then you cannot use this currency for trading with other players because its simply too easy to mass produce that currency, it has no value anymore.

It would be a huge differance. I havent been able to gamble even one set or unique in D2R so far. If that currency is personal and used for crafting set/unique or buy unid versions.

All i know is that the trade system need to change in some way for people to not use other platforms for trading.

well this is right, start making things personal and therefore raise droprates/gamble chances etc. Thats a way to do it. And this will slowly kill trading sites. But it will also kill trading in general.
We slowly turn this into what D3 is now. D3 is the extreme of exactly this, no trading, all personal but therefore huge drop rates so everyone can get everything fast and easy

Hey believe what you want to, I saw the vex drop from the hellforge after smashing the stone, you did not. I wouldn’t have believed it either if I hadn’t witnessed it myself. As I stated above perhaps there is a bug, Idk, but it happened. You are right about the LoD launch though and that could explain the first time I saw it happen.

You can further make his head explode by pointing out abysmal drop rates of Um/Mal/Ist/Gul from Countess and needing 8 Gul worth of those to cube up to a Lo.

In a single day.

Something need to be done, exactly how i dont know. But yes, soulbound items would ruin the game thats what killed D3 for me (and timed events). A lootbased game need its trading.

A AH would work with that as currency also, implementing a AH now, what would work as currency?

The fun thing about these claims is that it only takes one single documented case in 20 years of gaming to prove it true and yet not a single documented case exists.

Something they can do is rebalance the drop rates of Hell forge so that in hell mode, the drop options are now from Vex through Zod and NM Hel through Gul and in normal it would be El through Dol. This would be ladder exclusive and would provide another incentive to play

After watching a couple of his videos I think we are passed this threshold… :exploding_head:

A hellforge rush can be done in what… 15 minutes?

more like 30-45 but still to fast. 7x Vex+ per 45min… griffon = 1000 ber
