100% right, just look at the figures, they actually aren’t that rare at all.
People want the best gear but don’t want to put in the hours.
If they did that, the bots would just swap to hellforge farming.

Ugh no they won’t… As I said, Gul will still be the highest rune there, but with the lower runes removed from the drop list for Hellforge, it should increase the chances for the better runes to drop slightly.
the problem is not that high runes are so rare for the coolest items.
It is that most builds require the fattest gear to be even playable.
D2 would need a middle ground with top notch items that will increase a character slightly instead of drastically.
e.g. a cheap unique enigma that had similar stats vs the expensive rare enigma that add +2 skill and 45% frw
right now it is being poor or being rich. Without enigma you basically relegated to play sorc till you are rich enough. D2 is just lacking middle ground since 1.10
Maybe would be enough if increase charges on teleport items and lower the repair cost. Right now its to expensive to use, so yes I play a sorc instead, but its ok since sorc is my favorite class.

I got news for you, I always upgrade runes to higher runes. Because I do I was able to create a LO rune in just one day by upgrading nothing but the runes I got from the Countess.
I’ve made countless VEX because I upgrade from HEL onward.
Dude…it takes 11664 Hel runes to get a Vex… And you cubed countless!? The only higher runes really worth cubing are 2Gul to get a Vex and 2Sur to get a Ber.

If runes stacked I agree, I cube fal+ to UM just to make room.
I agree…I also do that…I usually cube from Ko+ up to Pul for the same reason.

this is just false. Only intentionally item-defined builds like bear sorc and auradin require high runes “to be playable”
There are bunch of “walkable” level 85 areas added in 2.4, like the swampy pit and abaddon. That closes the gap significantly.

well sure you can also play naked.
I guess we have to define what we say is playable after spending years on years with top items, going back to clear a cow level in 20 minutes isn’t that much playable for me while technically it is of course.
can you farm chaos sanct or baal runs with crap gear alone? Doubt it. Definitely not with builds like fury druid, fire sorc or whatever.
you can also walk to chaos sanctum. river of garbage is also a 85 area, yet nobody farms it for a reason.
Also enigma is not only used to quickly teleport to a boss or whatever.
Enigma speeds up your runs 10 fold.
Some builds even needs telestomping to be remotely effective (windy, summon etc.)
you should trade up Ko runes and Lem runes. just upgrade Fals. O 6 Ko n Pul or similar
I get your point…But I’m just lazy. The gain is negligible. 
False again. I’ve been told by respectable people that the river of flame is actually one of the best areas for holy grail farming. I can totally see that happening, you can get like 4 boss spawns right off the waypoint.
And you could just use Naj’s staff for smaller scope teleports, like into the CS.

I usually just create those trade games while continuing solo farming, but I understand your point. I just don’t want to keep those gems for upgrading and Ko and Lem runes sell pretty fast.
Because the game ISN’T just about you.
Neither is it about you.
Keep on playing and maybe you’ll get lucky. Or maybe not. This is the beautiful thing about this unforgiving loot system: the uncertainty of not knowing if you’re going to get good enough loot to justify the time invested in the game.
Or you can always quit and play an arpg with better loot allocation.
