Controller for Pc, WHY isn’t this a Discussion point?
Controller has a Huge advantage over PC right now (imo)
in regards to gameplay Pve,Pvp
compared to mouse & Keyboard…
In Pvp this Gives auto aim, i.e. I face toward the Target the game automatically highlights your name and character for me to drop a Blizzard on you or a Mind blast.
This alone with out even going into how Smooth and easy the 1 Click setup is and how much more mobility I have I’ll be buying a Controller to Play D2r for sure.
and for all those Bashing personal Loot you Might wanna consider how much harder of a time your gonna have competing with controller players that got AA standing on top of Diablo Spamming, X LOL I.e.
I played a little D3 with a controller on a friend’s console so I was looking for the D2R with the controller…
Overall I thought it was a pretty awesome experience especially with movement speed being very precise, you don’t need to toggle walk/run! Only negatives are it is much slower and more cumbersome than using a mouse to navigate through your inventory/stash, accidentally picking up items if you have your attack bound to A and binding spells is a little tedious. I found myself switching over to the mouse when I was selling, moving or equipping items.
I don’t think the concern with having autoaim is a big deal. Your enemy has to be on screen in order for your character to lock onto it, so in a duel with say bowazon vs bowazon I’m not sure how much this will matter.
This is a Huge deal AA is a Huge deal, +1 Click advantage and they don’t even gata aim they have better mobility and movement,
for anyone that understands the dynamic of AA.
them guided arrows and Bone spirits gonna be a Nightmare. Lol.
don’t even get me started on Mind blast and traps sins gawd …
I have a controller on my pc and whereas some of the features do certainly give an advantage over keyboard and mouse, the movement however can be clunky and in a life or death situation (especially in HC), when on low health, the general panic will be hard to counter, resulting in the traditional mass spamming of every button on the controller, which won’t end well.
Plus, at the character menu, by simply pressing A and then X in short succession (very easy to do, as I did this during beta myself) will permanently delete your char, as A is delete and X confirm. This should be changed for launch, delete and confirm should be as far apart on the controller as possible, not right next to each other.
but as I said, you have to be on screen, yes? at least in bowazon vs bowazon, it is a game of chicken and unless you’re brain dead you’re not fighting another zon at melee range lol… same thing with bone nec, blizz sorc, etc…
I don’t see the issue with AA specifically with controller where in a hack & slash you’re losing accuracy & speed. Dueling with mouse + keyboard is still going to be muuuuch stronger than those using controllers especially when it comes to teleporting, leap, charge, ww, etc…
I think Keyboard and Mouse wins out in Pve scenario,. But AA for Pvp is gonna be insane, Most of the ppl that are pry gonna comment on this Thread have never used AA before. so they don’t understand what I mean fully I feel.
you act like this is a Difficult feat., Lol when everyones got enigma teleporting around how hard do you think it’d be for me to tele in on you spam Bone spirit and tele out while your running away from those bone spirits I’m working on sending more at you.
but I gave you bowazon vs bowazon as the first example, they aren’t using enigma. in a gm duel they go out to blood moor, find their desired spot and say go. mouse/keyboard > controller. with bone nec, blizz sorc, ghosts, etc it is the same thing, mouse/keyboard will still dominate. You will be able to teleport around more precisely and change directions more quickly. plus what if you want to place a spear or fireball at a spot you anticipate them moving to, like a paladin charging. if controller tries to use AA, they are missing the person yo! controllers will be only used by casuals for PvM or like zeal vs zeal otherwise in most serious duels, mouse/keyboard will dominate…
Auto Aim Means you don’t have to Move a Mouse overtop of the enemies head the game automatically targets the Pvp/Enemy Pve for you.
I Play a Enchanted bowzon Lol and lemme tell you if you ran at me anyways you would be dead in 2-3 guided arrows, you run away from me off screen i’m spamming multi lol
I disagree with you personally the reaction time of AA picking up a Target and you mousing over the target manually way different. you’re at a disadvantage.
AA when your opponent is only visible on your screen is not scary…plenty of losers used it in D2 to aim when you weren’t even on their screen and they still got their butts kicked! guess we’ll see but to me mouse/keyboard will still easily dominate.
well I respect your difference in opinion, I for 1 have had experience with this, and it’s not lvl 30 pvp I’m worried about it’s end game Pvp and for a toon Like a trap sin that can lay traps a screen away this is a big deal because when your charger/smiter what ever your playing gets cloose you could easily be Mind blast and stun locked while the sin lays traps w.e with 1 click compared to your 2 & LEMME SAY it Might not seem like a lot But when it’s every time you change skills the amount of extra time you spend doing that racks up. Which right there puts you at a dis advantage in the fact that your slower… the AA is Only One part outa several advantages. the Mouse and Keyboard has Less range of Motion then controller. I hope this doesn’t phase you in your pvp end game content i’m sure many of us hope to enjoy.
i bought a controller from amazon to test during the Beta and the gameplay was pretty smooth and combat was fantastic. I loved the auto-target, the little life-bars and being able to use a skill bar too.
BUT. Trying to do inventory tetris with a joy stick is an absolute nightmare and it completely killed it for me. Inventory tetris feels like 80% of D2 for me. Can’t have that large of an experience be greatly hindered just for smoother combat.
right bro I bought a controller just to play it for myself & AMAZING I wish we could have some more modern single click cast features like this on Pc.!!
I just tested controller and my god it’s night and day compared to M&K. Instant loot (with vacuum), more responsive movement, instant cast spells (no more double click) just to name a few…
I think I’ll keep the controller plugged in for boss fights just to be able to snag loot until Blizzard fixes this.
It may work great for pvp. What about when you are faced with hordes of minions and a npc that resurrect and its hiding way in back. I think you may have harder time targeting something specific compared to a mouse.
