Why I cannot get high runes

I know d2 or d2r is a hardcore game.
However, I have spent hundreds of hours in cow farming and 3c and I cannot get a Ber.
I do get a Cham. But who would like to trade a Cham with a Ber?
The values of runes are so imbalanced, and am I forced to use d2jsp or other trade websites?

Please raise the drop rate for high runes for just one decimal point in ladder so that players can get nearly end sets in hundred hours? :dodge

High runes are really rare. It’s all RNG.

During my past several ladder plays in the original game, I play 1-2 hours a night over the course of about 2 months or so, usually farming with a Blizzard sorc. I usually managed to find an average of 2 Ohm+ high runes per ladder. One ladder I managed to score 2 Bers and a Zod within a 2 week period! And of course there were a couple of ladders where I didn’t get any high runes.

The game has open trade, you can trade other items for the runes you need.

2 per ladder does sound high runes are very rare.

But Ber is one of the most valuable items in d2r and few items can trade with it.

Well, the drop rates do not need to be increased, they are fine as they are. If you think they’re bad now, the drop rates were much worse prior to patch 1.13. The drop rate of Zod for example was boosted by 2000%.

The game can be played and enjoyed without uber runewords, Annihilus charms and even torches.

Thanks for the info.
I main Ama, Sorc and Pla for now. Need infinity and grief so bad.
Well, I feel more balanced now.

Keep accumulating items of value and package them up. Hammer trade sites and forums and find someone with a Ber who will take your package of items.
I trades 2 ohms, 1 Sur and 2 Ists for one last week

Pop chests in Lower Kurast very fast! Make a trapperSin to aid with this!

Thanks!
I do have several decent base items as I did lots cow farming. Lol

Sell keysets.
1 keyset = gul
6-8 gul = sur
2 sur → ber

I feel you, I’ve gotten thousands of hours played over a decade… I’ve never found anything higher than a Vex. It’s a big reason I quit back in the day then played on a private pvp server for like a year and it’s kinda what keeps me from enjoying the game now. The drop rates are pitiful and the vocal player-base want to gatekeep gear… it’s pathetic. I’ve also got well over a hundred on D2R just MFing…

The drop rates shouldn’t be this abysmal.

Thanks!
Does that mean I also need Infinity?

Nope, as you will be running fast and poping chests with no key

For extra BA mode get a Harmony Bow!

Hang on to your cham, it’ll be more valuable with the new rune words.

If you’re doing Lower kurast runs, you can also get a staff with teleport charges (charges are important if you’re not a sorceress) to get around fast. It’ll be expensive to recharge the item when repairing, but can make you farm faster.

don’t discount trading items for runes and working your way up

remember 2 surs is a ber

Magic Find doesnt affect the drop rate of runes unfortunately. I do agree that the drop rates could be increased on HRs, but it would be a fine balance of not increasing them so much that everyone just has everything right away, and there’s no sense of accomplishment.

New runewords can only be accessed through ladder. Him having Cham is irrelevant even of the new runewords include a Cham.

You’re not being accurate though. If you’ve watched the stream, you’d know that the new “ladder only” runewords will only be Ladder Only for the time of the season where they’re introduced, and you will be able to make them offline and in non ladder at the end of the season. So, in fact, them keeping their cham could be a good move.

They’re also not promising new rune words every season in the future, they apparently just have a list of runewords ready and will release them a few per season.

I know it doesn’t… but with the amount of time put in it, I should have found at very least 5-6 of each HR. It’s not rewarding enough to grind that hard… it’s a big problem when it comes to casual/semi-casual players… they find nothing when they put time in? They’re gonna play less and less over time, until they quit all together. They need a NICE jump in drop rates all around. Then you got people wanting to gatekeep that gear because if you don’t spend 40+ hours a week, “you don’t deserve them” also not saying you’re one of those. But it’s such a sad common trope. This is a game, not a job. Never being able to find anything useful is demoralizing.

BTW your name, hilarious.

if you play online, I believe they want you to trade for them.

if you play offline, you can increase drop chance with /p7.

or you can always cube-up.
They’ve removed the restriction on upping runes online. Before you couldn’t go past Thrul i believe
