Why D3 is much better than D2?

Fist from my experience, looting in D2 is so boring, playing alone and doing the same and repetitive infinite runs.

D3 = loot galore, much easier to gear your character in legs/sets
D2 = rare loot

can yall just shut it and be thankful that if you don’t care about looting for items with extremely poor drop rates you have alternatives to play? D3 plays great, movement & spell action is wonderful and you don’t have to play for weeks and months to get proper gear on. heck i’ve geared up multiple characters IN ONE DAY all by using kanai’s cube. Sure it wasn’t getting to 150 grift right away but still a respectable power to do some high level grifts. It isn’t my cup of tea but for people who find D2 boring or too difficult to find good items the alternative game IS THERE FOR YOU! In D2 you can beat the game with trash gear if you play smart and rare items actually FEEL RARE instead of the game raining down 20 legs/sets when you kill a boss like in a D3 grift…

what people seem to want is D3 drop rates in D2. get out of here… they are 2 different games, play the one to your liking and leave people who are fans of each style out of it.

Both games are repetitive. For all its faults, greater rifts in D3 provide far more challenge and diversity in the types of monsters you face, the final boss that you fight, and the maps.

d2 = multiple avenues for entertainment
d3 = REV UP THOSE RIFTS AND BOUNTIES WOO WOO!

I have to disagree with you here. D2 has become a game of endless Baal runs. Not sure that qualifies as entertainment that’s much different than D3 GR’s.

I have to disagree, you can mf in many different spots, you can level up with cs-runs aswell as baal runs. At higher levels you only way to level is diablo, nilathak and a third one, which i dont remember atm.

endless baal runs? what a kind of a noob comment is that…

if you’re farming for items you better be doing every ilvl 85 area, trav, cows, andy, meph, pindle, eld, shenk, thresh, all levels of wsk, clear entire chaos, etc… jfc…

I mean to say you don’t have to exclusively do Baal runs. They are obviously the “meta” choice but there are other options. But I’d concede the late game does boil down to runs/hunts no matter where you decide to them.

Also D2 allows for far greater variation in character building in my opinion. For instance I’m gonna make a necro that uses Confuse, Attract, Revive, and Bone Wall soon. Make my own mosh pits. For funsies.
