Is anybody using the Act 5 frenzy Merc? What build are you using them with?
I’ve been thinking about using one with a Frenzy Barb, him with Grief+Lawbringer and me with Grief+LastWish. Or him with LastWish+Lawbringer and me with double Grief… It could be fun to have us both running around like mad.
Maybe with a Strafe Zon? Me with Faith, him with Grief + LastWish?
What about LastWish+Lawbringer with a Summon Druid?
I’m interested to hear what you all think, and what you’re using them with.
Only character I went for act v merc, is cold sorc. I went for flickering flame, dragon and 2 x hand of justice. That was because she didn’t need infinity or pride. Altho now, when those sunders came, dunno what I’ll be doing.
I am using him for my Tesladin or my Tri-brid FoH Paladin. Rocking Last wish and lawbringer.
It procs decrepify quite consistently.
Wasn’t aware of this interaction. Interesting. So from what I understand the hit blinds target removes the decrepify from the particular mob? The inpact shouln’t be that big as decrepify is aoe and blind is single target. Right?
I actually didn’t notice any noticeable difference with the act 2 might merc rocking a reaper’s toll. And I like more the look of the act v one.
I’m willing to make a fenzy barb and utilize frenzy merc. I would like 7 others to do the same. Think about it, 16 mad men swinging wildly at Diablo’s minions. Who wants to join me for glory?
Isn’t blind only on the current monster? I would hope that the AOE decrepify would affect a large group, and then only the one that he was fighting would potentially lose it. Have you seen it? Is it more of a problem than I’m thinking?
I know the phase blades are lower damage, but I would still go that way if I was wielding it because I only PVM and I can’t stand running to repair every two minutes. I was more considering it for the other parts, and the Grief for the damage. I’d love it if axes had much higher durability because they look a lot cooler too.
In truth, i have never had the runes for a Last Wish, so no is the short answer.
Also, i dont think gods or ubers can be blinded, so there is that also.
I for one rely ehavily on decrepify a lot as a Frenzy Barb with Lawbringer offhand. Thats the only reason i raise it. A5 mercs also have stun or something right? A2 merc has neither of those problems.
A5 merc with frenzy is 10000% cooler. Thats for sure.
Yeah, I think the Act5 merc is a lot cooler. I was also thinking that he’s more tanky, and would get the decrepify off faster. It’s also a level 15 instead of level 1 from Reaper’s Toll, so the radius would be much larger.
Also blind is single target, so no biggie. Frenzy barb don’t stun, but can Taunt, which is also single target, he will be procing Decrep much more frequently, so those things will not bother you much. Specialy in big density.
This is exactly what I noticed with this combo(LW & Lawbringer). I use them paired with coh and gface. He is extremely tanky even in full games. With a little patience he even kills baal alone in a full game. :))
Sazabi’s Set is pretty good on the merc and quite cheap.
Lawbringer always solid for crowd control and immu’s, however Taunt will override Decrepify so not as good as you might think, still works and especially against groups because Decrep affects multiple while Taunt only 1.
Grief is always strong, but I prefered an Eth Headstriker.
For a summoner druid I think your better off with an Act 2 Might/Pride or Act 1 Faith though (Amping the enemies yourself).
On necro summon Act 5 is pretty good, due to Corpse Explosion and the act 5 merc can become a real thank with very high killing speed.
I really like the look of the tesladin with the bone visage zealing away…monsters getting zapped and the barb zooming around casting decrep like crazy.
