The entire game is based around farming lol. It’s a looter.
“Farmers are the issue”, sure that’s the current problem but what the real issue is: Blizz didn’t know this would be a problem. That means they don’t know enough about the game they re-did. Anyone who had been playing the game in the last 20 year should be able to tell you that half a million people would be creating and dropping games every min.
Realm down was put in there for a reason ages ago and the new Blizz just threw it out as if all was ok. Obviously it wasn’t and they didn’t have a solution for it.
At the core Blizz didn’t know how the game was played and was not ready for it. There really was no excuse for this, it’s not a new game and people are not playing any differently than they did over the last 20 years.
I’m pretty sure they were aware of all of this and it’s just a matter of not wanting to spend the money for capacity when they know the population will naturally go down over time. The fix is very likely just waiting for that.
So the fix is to make the game so annoying people are unwilling to keep playing it and they want a refund…

This is totally not true, it’s not like it’s a different game, it’s not like people didn’t farm pindle/Shenk, Eldrich over and over in the original game. People are not playing it differently, they are playing it exactly the same. Same farming spots, etc.
If they didn’t want us farming as much as the original then why would they allow me to make consecutive games faster then in the original even with the new timer? Also this is a remaster of the original game it has something to do with it.
It’s because Blizzard decided to have a single global server instead of splitting it up into realms like Legacy D2.
Their excuse about people not MFing on the old D2 is false. Everyone MFed back in the day. I can’t believe they even said that, did anyone at Vicarious Visions even play D2 in it’s prime?
Everyone ran Cow and Baal runs, there was even chat channels dedicated to it. You know, chat channels, something we don’t even have in the new game?
The servers could handle it back then because they were split up into Realms. Asia even had 3 different realms to deal with their population.

My god boy, you need some rest. This is strictly a farming game. Beat game–>farm for loot. Thats literally the only thing you do in this game.
This game ran better 20 years ago with more players on weaker hardware.

Lol. So a 20 year old game that was fine being farmed back in the good old 56k days before people even needed dedicated GPUs to run games is somehow putting strain on the servers now that technology has taken leaps forward and the world is full of massive online games?

It affects every item drop that has the potential to be magical, rare, set, and unique. The source is irrelevant. Of course, gambling, imbuing, and crafting are not affected. Arreat Summit has more info on how magic find works.

I’m all for letting people play how they want to play. Cheating, go for it. Farming, no problem. Naked cow runs, sure why not. Offline and online playing together, as it should be. Duping items, so what. God mode, yeah, let’s do it. Modding, uh yes please.
