How is it not a cakewalk now for anyone rolling Hammerdin + Enigma or Lightning + Infinity?
Does requiring Reapers Toll on a merc somehow make melee builds more challenging?
Immunites don’t add difficulty, its an annoyance that people generally circumvent. Players gravitate towards zones that are most efficient, this is easier now than ever thanks to more level 85 zones.
Your argument is at face a strawman and a false cause if one digs deeper…

You dont HAVE to use one of those builds. You are just taking 2 builds and want ALL builds to be like that. Unlike you, i wont do something i dont enjoy just for the sake of it so lets leave the discussion here. Good luck on your crusade
Nah, the game wont be Diablo without immunes.
That’s precisely the point
The irony of this statement… Just out of curiosity, what classes and builds do you play with most frequently?
D2 and LOD both launched without universal immunities in Hell. There is a vast difference between universal immunities in Hell and immunities found on unique and superunique packs.

Alot changed since launch but I stand by my statement. Fyi, the game was definately in beta upon release.
It is almost never worth it. The tradeoff is often having garbage builds. Now, I am sure if you stack a character with the absolute best gear, including skill charms, you could get away with it without sacrificing too much damage, but otherwise the amount it slows you down by is not worth it.
I am not against immunities, but there should be more ways to break them. Crazy to me that enemies exist that cannot be broken (I think).
What about if they add items in a hopefully upcoming expansion? Such as a rare unique ring set that only does “Reduces enemy lightning resistance to 40%” for example. That means you have to find both set rings, choose to lose out on SOJs or whatever else, and it still doesn’t remove resists, but it brings them to 40% (or some percent that makes sense) and cannot be altered through other use of items (they are at 40% resist for you, no matter what).
Could have this for other elements as well, or high end unique items that don’t do much other than breaking immunities. Such as low defense, no frill body armor that breaks x element immunities, starting the enemy at 99% and can be lowered from other items. But it would do nothing else, and maybe it requires X amount of Energy to wear or something.
Another idea could be a unique grand charm that removes immunities from X element, but other charms in your inventory do nothing.
Some of these might be great ideas, some might be broken. Just throwing it out there.
So when you are playing norm and nightmare you aren’t playing Diablo?
The game wasn’t in beta
It was just unfinished/rushed
Also, patch 1.10 wasn’t meant to be a playable patch
The whole blizzard north team was working on diablo 3 when Peter Hu created that patch, not for content purpose but rather for throwing a crap LOad of broken mechanics to test them on players to see if they could apply them to D3
1.10 isnt a real patch, it’s an alpha PTR
But is that not the definition of beta?
The literal definition of a beta version is an unreleased version for testing purpose
1.00 was official release, a distribution product, not a beta
Clearly not. He also probably doesn’t play HC…
Favorite builds atm are throw barb, emergy shield sorc and smiter. Used pn necro a lot as well as dream paladin, berserker and ww barb.
Out of the lot berserker can deal with the most content but has zero aoe.
I am guessing op wants to be able to sit there and watch their bot kill and grab w/o taking a single point of damage and tackle anything ingame w/o having to lift a finger
Or we could not and not have these lame posts slowly try and transition this game into the Diablo 3 “easy mode” Diablo 3 was so easy even on the highest Torment it was a joke
It was stupid hard on launch tho
this game isnt hard, go play dark souls then come back to the game and your mind will be changed
I was talking about d3 on launch. dark souls is hard like salt and sanctuary or hollow knight. anyway im against OPs change as you might see from the thread
my bad, I thought you were saying you think d2 was hard or something lol.D3 launch wasnt balanced right.it was like d2 hell mode P8 and your best gear was about as effective as the sigons set and the blood letter for a weapon
Lol yeah its true. It wasnt as hard ad it was unbañanced. I remeber getting slaughtered at the desert. But then they made it tooo easy
Incorrect.
Vanilla LOD (what you got when you installed it for the first time from the cd’s, before any patch updates) could spawn mobs with up to 3-4 immunities. They made the game easier in later patches by making it 2x max…
