We could test no immunes on PTR

Since we have a separate server I’d like to test removed immunities in there to see if people like it or feel like it’s too big change. Wouldn’t hurt live version of game at all.

Correct me if I’m wrong but after thinking about it I see them as making already weaker builds even worse while S tier spell builds like Hammerdin, FoH almost don’t care. Sorc and Pala dominate ladder anyway. I also agree with statement that killing monsters is more fun than skipping them.

If Hell feels too easy (ppl say it anyway already) I’d consider nerfing those S tier spell builds. Maybe it would make melee and bow builds more valuable and worth trying out as they struggle a lot without strong items.

You may say immunities are encouraging to use more than 1 skill. Okay then why game is dominated by 2 best builds?

How about not nerfing anything, immunities included, but give players some more tools than Infinity to deal with them?

comming from the guy with a necro for his portrait. Lower Resist Curse Exists, Infinity get its aura from a paladin skill… and FoH is a played class.

just try not to play solo 100% of the time and you can get around immunities quite regularly…

Never heard D2 to be an mmo so your solution is weird.

Comparing multiplayer to solo is a good discussion for another thread. Look at rank 1 ladder achieved after few days and think how much longer it would take solo.

Or… and this is going to be shocking to some… Just don’t do single damage type builds and actual build your character to deal with immunities.

That doesn’t work well with 1 button click to kill all builds though… Or in a couple of cases, just move around to kill everything builds.

better yet let people play how they want?

Immunities are a cool characteristic of this game and kinda a big thing of what makes Diablo 2 what it is.

Problem is, you’re forced to do small portions of content compared to the game.

Solution is to make maps exist that still have immunities but offer significantly more areas to clear.

Well I want immunities to stay, if I wan’t to play a game without immunities and where damage types no longer matter I can play the easy for all D3.

Why not let D2 stay D2, the difficulty is already so much lower than it’s prime days.
Do we need faceroll winning here as well?

Hammerdin, FoH already do.

Sure I can but then I’m limiting my damage to run more maps. Do I really want it if I can have better results farming one area that don’t have immunes to my build faster? Also remember pre 2.4 there wasn’t any lvl 85 map for Fire builds while already op cold sorcs and hammerdins were happily clearing. It just makes bad build even worse.

Hammerdin is something I haven’t played since 1.10, but as I understood they did remove the immunity breaking to undead/demon, so it would no longer faceroll everything, still OP af and probably still needs a nerf.

FoH can certain areas, but is useless in others (try cowing with it for example, quite a horrible experience I guess).

But even if there were 2 builds that facerolled the game in 99% of the area’s, then those builds are flawed not the rest of the game.

I prefer we have a light version of infinity (lvl one conviction). So players have to decide between infinity and insight for merc. Runeword with 2x Gul for example since Gul is not really used at all.

I also want a light version of griffon. The difference between griffon and second best lightning helmet (whatever it is) is very high. Lightning version of flickering flame sounds nice.

a) Instead of removing immunes…maybe try to use ONE of the 100 possible solutions to deal with them.

b) What class are you playing? I kinda think Sorc, because those players yell the loudest. If so, I counter suggest to leave all like it is, except to nerf sorc damage by 30% for a start. If more complains are coming, another 30%.

Immunes are not an issue at all. The game is very easy after a few weeks. You seek to destroy Diablo 2 by making it sooooooo easy.

You do know that all chars with skills that lower resistances would dominate like crazy, do you?
Cold sorc for instance. Blizzard is already SUPER STRONG, you want it to be the only build in the game.

I play sorc. Lvl90 FO /firewall. I can play every area I want. Didn’t become boring. Every boss. Doesn’t matter. I can farm all essence for tokens, iam not stuck in 1,2,3 maps. High mobility, solid damage. No complaining. Double immune fire and cold, no problem, Merc can easily do.

Maybe give a hybrid build a chance, there are many options. Hydra lightning, meteor. Orbs. Fireballs or walls…

Oh wait, I want to oneshot everything with my blizzard :cold_face: … Please nerf immunities…

I got my first infinity ever recently and you be surprised to know it doesn’t break allvresistances, and stuff that it does break such as gchaos ghosts take awhile to kill.

I am aware that Blizzard Sorc would be even more OP without cold immunities that’s why I mentioned in very first post in this thread that I’d consider nerfing damage of build like this.

Yup… as a hydra/ orb sorc, I just clear the room for Emilio.
