Yes and as I said there is an issue with carrying/gear sharing for money in both D2R and D3. There is also an issue of account buying of geared accounts in both games.
A fundamental and major difference is since D3 no longer has free trade, no one can go to a black market website and buy a D3 legendary that can be instantaneously delivered in game.
In contrast, this can happen in D2R.
Both games have issues with cheating. Eliminating free trade in D3 dramatically reduced RMT.
