I would rather Blizzard add 3 more quests and expand Act 4. I never liked how Act 4 felt unfinished and more of a “get to Diablo ASAP” thing.
Add new sections and quests, maybe something about Adria in there would be sweet (without having her directly there). It would flesh out the entire game more, and you could make Act 5 a bit harder then.
Nope.
Leave the creation of new D2 content to the modding scene and let me enjoy some good ol’ D2 with nothing but enhanced graphics, some QoL changes and hopefully less bugs and cheaters.
The official new content will come with D4 and if it is trash (and don’t get me wrong here, from what I have seen so far it looks actually good), then be it that way - because I can always go back to D2:R.
I think adding new content and buffing weaker skills and what not is fine, as long as you add it in a separate mode. IE: at character creation you could select Classic, LoD and BlizzMod (or whatever the third mode would be called). The third could include new content and skill balancing and what not.
This is a great idea. I could see them selling an expansion for d2r and have a toggle option in character creation like they do for lod as you said. I don’t see a problem with more options. If the new xpac sucked I could just go back to lod.
According to the Mr. Llama’s Survey; 70% of people want future content in the game. This can even be interpreted another way: only 7% of people actively don’t want more content. Also considering this would have been distributed amongst Mr. Llama’s fan base and other Diablo 2 centric places like these forums and reddit that 7% is probably over represented.
It seems pretty clear: Players want more content to Diablo 2; which in hindsight is not that much of a surprise. Diablo 2 has historically had features added to it pre Activision Buyout.
