Agree to all but the ploot part think this would be a great way of killing pickit and making sure bots have a hard time getting every item in a public game. I would actually play a lot more multiplayer games if this was implemented lets say 5 sec delay before anyone else could pick up the item. Then botters would be forced to either play solo games or have 8 bots playing together
it depends on how its implementedā¦ 5 second delay isnt bad, but from my short experience in POE, it tend to mean im waiting 5 second while the rest of the group is now 2-3 screens away killing stuffā¦ i dont think more than 2-3 seconds is necessary.
but the biggest issue i have with personal loot is āleechersā not contributing just sitting there with MF gear and completely unable to help in any way with find item barbs while making the game harder for everyone else. thats the main issue with āpersonal lootā
as soon as they are guaranteed loot without having to actively contribute, it incentives people to just sit back with the best MF gear and make everyone else do the work.

javason is doesnt need nerfs outside of infinite breaking it, i think a better issue with be somehow addressing that

I see your issue. Ofc it should be implemented in a way that you could turn it on and off like in PoE and no loot should be dropped for u if u are too far away. And maybe make it so u can see it in the game lobby whether its on or off
Iām sorry but P1 becomes SO EASY and boring on almost any build with mid-tier gear. Players wanting an increase in difficulty/reward is commonplace in any similar game as their gear/damage progresses. So play with other to increase the difficulty? Ok, but have you ever done a CS or Baal run with 7 other people? The minnions die the second they get on the map. I have been in many CS/Baal runs with 7 others where the run is complete in 3 minutes or less. Thus we get to the current meta of split farming - over-complicated 3-minute games where people join to farm alone in 1 small area and reap P8 benefits.
People asking for an increase in difficulty/reward is not a greed thing - itās something that most games provide to players to keep their interest and trivialize the game. Games feel like they have been beatin once you can 1 shot everything that exists in the game (P1).

Stop sugar coating your intention. If you people really just want more challenges, what you will be asking for is new difficulty above Hell, not p8. Asking for p8 for more loots is nothing but greed in nature, disgusted with the demand for higher challenges.
Why? The majority already use a paly or a sorc for farming, in order to obtain gear to build other characters.

Again, no it will not change this. Sure those builds should be brought down a little, but no one is saying you have to use P8 for all builds, some can do P3 just fine, others higher/lower.

Actually I think it would even the playing field, currently the system benefits few, where this would open the field up to everyone who doesnt bot or discord together or what not.
Players dont already play with eachother except for questing and the dedicated groups who group farm together. Its not going to change as much as everyone thinks.
P8 is already part of the game though, a new difficulty is changing the core, legacy game.

Maybe it becomes too easy for u playing ur maxed out hammerdin or whatever. Fact is that only a few builds would be effective on P8 and those are going to be the only builds played if this would ever be implemented. This would go against the whole purpose of the 2.4 patch which was supposed to increase build diversity. As long as the builds are nowhere near eachother in terms of clearing P8 this will never be a good idea. Besides the economy would be screwed because of greed
I 100% agree, I would love a new difficulty with increased rewards and would prefer it over P8 but if my options were P8 or nothing, I would choose P8. Greed would be asking for an increase in reward without difficulty.
This makes no sense, P8 has a 450% increase in monster HP and 70%+ in monster damage - it is increased difficulty/reward. Class balance is another issue and I agree top meta builds should be nerfed.
Pre 2.4, my Orb/Lightning build did OK in Chaos, Pits, Mephā¦ Worldstone into Baal, was a struggle but possible.
Now with 2.4, I can breeze through all of those with an Orb/Hydra build, and I have heard of many other builds who can sail through P1 now.
They accomplished 1 part, build diversity is up, I am loving the Hydra option, but now it would be great to add a P3 in to make it a bit more challenging.
You donāt need a maxed-out Hammerdin to clear P8 efficiently. Also, I can clear P8 CS on my Bowazon in 6 minutes, Light Sorc in 4 minutes, Hammerdin in 4 minutes, Trapsin in 5 minutes, Wind druid in 6 minutes, Summon CE Necro in 7 minutes, Javazon in 4 minutes and so on - Many builds capable and in 2.4 many more.

No and no again. Try out P8 on offline with Orb/hydra and u will see it will take u forever to kill a simple thing like eldritch or shenk while a hammedin or javazon u will barely notice the difference. P8 Will definitely kill build diversity and everyone will be playing the few top tier builds that can do P8 effectively

Right there, your post is an example of the biggest mistake and assumption, NOT EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO USE P8. Only the elite builds. Now will everyone use those builds initially? Sure, but they already do.
So why not address this in the class balance thread? If 50% of builds can clear P8 efficiently and the others canāt, then they should be buffed in coming patches to have similar output to the other classes - class balance is a normal thing in online games that is addressed over time as it has been in 2.4 (the important thing is to maintain the ceiling). P8 or some other end-game mechanic does not mean that no other changes can be made after it.
Yes some already do but now other builds can do it almost as fast on P1. Implementing P8 would be taking a massive step backwards just when the game got new options to the already existing builds. So no and no again no P8.

You canāt seem to comprehend that they are ALREADY addressing class diversity and balance and seem to be under the impression that P8 or any end-game solution = the end of all changes in the game you dull-eyed cow.
LOL dude, Iām in southern Caliā¦and I get hardly any games, Iām walking my self through hell on my sumdruid. I never liked d2jsp or any third party trade site, they ruin the economy and turn trading into a nearly impossible task. everything being measured by fg instead of rarity and need is frustrating. that was the main reason I gave up on trading back then, the other very minor reason being left-over dupes if it was done on a non-ladder game.
I do like the sound of /players8 on servers, but I also think it can become OP and remove the need to trade completely lol maybe cap it at /players3, I also think that they should change how drops work. rather than simply having more players, make it so that itās more players within proximity. that would help combat griefers who join a game and kill an important boss, forcing everyone to make a new game. this behaviour only serves to kill a games community, so there needs to be something done to stop it.
