I believe a new expansion for Diablo 2 would be amazing.
We could tell the story of Lilith’s imprisonment, but without additions that deviate from the Diablo 2 style. Perhaps through some use of The Standard of Heroes. No mounts, no wings, etc.
New sets, runewords and unique items would be interesting. Perhaps some new function for the gems and jewels that accumulate in inventories.

It makes my weapons swap. 
But yeah, a lot of people don’t realize that actual new art would need corresponding legacy graphics and there’s no chance current Blizz would do that work or even have the artists/programs needed to make that art look good and mesh with the other stuff from 2000-2001.
I don’t think that they’d just not do the legacy art either, I think it was their intent that D2L has full parity with D2R graphics. Look at sunders for example, they use the generic grand charm graphics with a color palette applied instead of unique graphics for it.
But yeah, this is all moot anyways because they’re not going to make an expansion for D2R and PezRadar even explicitly said so when there was rumors floating about.

Are bethesda forums filled with “make another morrowind expansion?” Are they releasing new expansion packs for baldurs gate 2 enhanced edition? Why are people so desperate for blizz to become a charity? Makes absolutely no business sense even if it could turn a profit, wake up folks, that is not how the business world works…it may be facetious of me to suggest that blizz is already drafting out d5 but there is no doubt some truth to that…
I’m still waiting on an expansion for the original Pong.

I think the most we could realistically hope for is…nothing at this point lol.
Can’t even move act 5 Cain to the stash haha.
BUT. It would be cool to see a completed act 4.
A lot of the content that was planned for act 4 got scrapped because they ran out of time.

Developers must create the classic part as well. Or disable the G function in new area 
Both are ridiculous paths hence why this will never remotely occur…
D2 fans need to practice accepting and moving on. D1 fans haven’t gotten a bone ever, at least we got a small bone with D2R, now blizz is onto actual modern titles which I can guarantee their devs much prefer working on…

LOOK PEOPLE. if they were EVER going to make more diablo 2. they would’ve done it WHILE doing resurrected, it only makes sense. now that the team is COMPLETELY dissolved. the chances are even LESS likely, when we had a team for d2:r it wasn’t even talked about. now we have. absolutely nobody.
well, one person, who had to change the ages in korea. but i mean… i’m sure that was tough.

If only there was an rpg that was as good as D2.
For now I play only shooters as there are no new good rpg games

D2 is a finished game and it got a awesome looking remaster, no other remaster of a game that is that old works so good and doesn’t feel as modern as D2.
If I dream of something, that would be a D1 remaster.
But in a world where this happens I already see people complaing about not having a stash, a cowlevel and waypoints
