I think that a pretty decent implementation of this, would be to add something like Hell+ mode (insert more creative name) Where the whole game is scaled like terror zones, accessible after you defeat hell Baal. You could freely farm your favorite areas and still get XP, without having to wait for good areas and defaulting to Baal runs.
Even easier - terror zone toggle option. If checked, any difficulty where you killed baal will have all zones terrorized (at least the ones that can be terrorized)
I’m not sure that’s a good way of doing things, as players are likely to simply chain the same zone again and again. A better way would be to have a random zone terrorized at the start of the game. Then, when you kill 50% of monsters from that zone, an extra zone gets terrorized. Then, when you kill 50% of monsters from that zone, yet another zone gets terrorized, and so on.
I am saying 50%, but it could be 25%, the point being that you should clean that zone a little, but not have to extensively search it.
Either way, I would like to request solutions for those that dislike the notion of level scaling to enjoy the concept while being able to choose monster level instead of being forced into the scaling part.
Why is it bad to chain your favourite zone? Not everybody has the need to punish themselves.
An absolutely awful proposition. It’s already bad enough if a crap zone for your build rolls for an hour. But at least you will have one hour with a good zone too. With this idea, you would have to create new games nonstop to get a decent zone and after clearing it in 2 minutes or less… you would have to create the next 10 games to get maybe a decent zone… I wouldn’t want to play that crap. GL keeping a group going that way… especially since 80% of the zones are already bad.
You can already mod offline to your heart’s content though. It’s seems odd asking for anything specific for offline when you can very much just put it in yourself.
I too would love offline terror zones and sunder charms. To be fair to those who don’t seem to want them, it could be an option to enable terror zones.
