Don’t dwell on the items you want, play the best you can with the items you have.
Did prehistoric humans complain because they didn’t have a BIC lighter to light fires with? No, because they’ve never seen a BIC lighter. They’ll continue making fire the way they know.
Does the OP realize he just created another thread where people are whining about low drop rates? Since he created the thread to whine about people whining about low drop rates, the irony here is thick.

That’s not such a good analogy. Because the people in this game who don’t play as much can see the uber leet gear that the other people have, and they want it. While the prehistorics, as you said, don’t know anything else. We’re dealing with people who have the same loot greed that we do, but don’t have the time to get it.
To a point, I sympathize. But one game can’t be all things for all kinds of players. Which is why there are different games.
If the prehistoric humans were given lighters, they’d be overjoyed how easy it was to create fire, that is until the lighters ran out of fuel and their flints wore down. Then they’d have to go back to rubbing sticks together. And they’d probably mope around and complain about not having lighters for a while. If they had lighters for too long of a timeframe, they might have forgotten how to make fire with sticks, then they’d really be up a creek without a paddle when their supply of lighters disappeared.
Not really. It’s missing a key element: the people here complain know all about what they don’t have, and that is why they’re complaining.
In any event, analogies aside, I don’t see a solution to accommodate both camps. In WoW, their solution was to nerf end game raid bosses a couple months before an expansion was released, so the casuals could experience the content and get end game gear. Right before it became obsolete. That solution does not apply here since there are no level cap raising expansions.
Items are important for bragging rights online. That’s just part of the game.
Single player has much better runs, static maps and players 8 which makes finding items relatively easy, but I wouldn’t mind if they added mods for single player.
No there are far more people on these boards that do. The majority of the player base never comes here. Of course the people that WANT changes frequent here more often. The people that are fine with the drops are more busy farming. The boards are full of people that spend more time typing than playing, or ran out of mule space and are bored.
You’re being too judgy about other people’s idea of “fun.” In your wording as “epeen” and so forth. Might I ask what fun you get out of this game? It certainly isn’t the thrill of killing a “hard” boss, like in WoW, or PoE. Because there aren’t any here. But even in games where they have challenging bosses, the bragging rights of killing the boss are a motive, as opposed to just the bragging rights of having the best gear. Either way, it’s still bragging rights.
You are correct. I was being over the top. Each person can define what they find fun. The issue here is that some are claiming everything is great without realizing that there are valid raeasons that has been given why some think a tweak is in order.
I strongly argue that the game should target drop rates that are fun for the intermediate player that falls between casuals and no lifers. If one pkays D2R routinely 40 hours a week, you may have a warped perception and survivor bias.
