Stop bashing devs they are the reason you have a game at all

yeah, we all know the mantra

but im talking about simple .txt edits
not something that would take code editing like a brand new currency stash
cain next to stash in act 5 is one good example but not the only one

Me for example couldnt care less about what u suggesting. Might be a huge thing for u though.

its not, i dont care neither
but it would take me no more than 3 min to change that for my off line mod

there is simply no reason at all depite…relapse

I really like D2R. I’m not really the most hardcore D2 player. I played the old game a good bit, but I was always extremely bothered by the low framerate due to being used to newer games that run smoothly, so D2R was what I always wanted. I never really expected much from it other than being D2 with better graphics and smoother framerate and I got what I wanted.

Like your positive message. Maybe you can help me? Just learning at level 19. I’m having trouble activating a level 18 Shadow Warrior from my Assassin advancing down the “Shadow” column. The “Trap” column merges over to “Shadow warrior.” Surely I don’t have to complete the “Trap” to achieve Shadow Warrior?

Aka it matters to u or why would u even bother to change it?

There is no reason for them to change it either. Its a none issue. If it doesnt matter why change it? So that ppl can go and complain that it got changed? The fact that ppl even complain about such silly things just shows that there is no point trying to please them.

i dont know why youre changing the subject
this isnt about me, what matters or not to me
its about them doing something that would take 3 min

they are already doing changes, this is the reason
is the same as saying there is no reason to remove the cobwebs despite already having the broom in hand bc one was sweeping the floor

anyway, im happy with the way things are going

sometimes you have to allocate skill points to get to the skills you want

TBH it’s actually a very intuitive system for newer players. Let’s them try the skills along the way.

they are the reason we have a game, but WE are the reason they have a job…

Neither is true. They’d be developers at some other crappy company with or without the fans of D2LOD. They’d probably even still work at Acti-Trash-Blizz working on some mobile moba in the SC universe or something. Meanwhile the devs are not the reason why we have D2R, they get ZERO say in what they make. Some higher up’s decided nostalgia remakes were a safe bet, especially considering how well they mess up anything new they try to make. They already have the gameplan because better owns/devs/team leads came up with the ideas 2 decades ago.

Developers 2 decades ago didn’t decide world quests and dailies should be the focal point of WoW world content. The ones we have today did that. The ones we have today decided D4 needed to have WoW / D3 / DI / Lost Ark content.

So yeah blaming the CEO for what the developers decide to put into the game is just silly. That’s not how it works. The company wants to make money but can’t because they won’t get out of CA which seriously restricts their capacity to be as great as they once were. The economy is such that many people are leaving these once great areas for tech and creativity to make their dreams happen in more suitable locations.

If they were smart they would have an exit strategy to get out of Irvine or at least shift much of their game development to other less hostile states.

Oh my god, I’m so sorry, your parents dropped you on your head when you were a child.

We were talking about D2R which has almost no new content and even what is new content is just recycled old stuff modified. The current devs just copied what was in the old game poorly and updated the graphics that is all.

If you want to branch into D3/D4 I only have played D3, but they just followed the activision mantra. Make the most basic, narrow, rushed game possible and captialize on the IP’s history rather than understand why Blizzard used to be a loved company. The DEVs don’t make those choices, the higher ups say hey we need X and you can have 3 dollars and 6 months to make it the best you possibly can, and depending on how well it sells we might give you another 3 dollars to patch up some of the crap yall made.

Yes, it is the CEO/Board telling the company to rush out product because that is what AAA is nowadays. There is no quality, just making sure to rush out titles with name recognition as fast as possible because another 60 dollars from you clowns who keep getting suckered justifies EVERY single negative review, game breaking bug, glitch, etc.

Meanwhile you want to blame CA, but those that program and do artwork for video games make pretty similar money no matter where they live. They chose their office space and if you’re worried about their rent thats kind of funny cuz they’ve made billions off of COD, I’m sure they’re not struggling.

They could be in the middle of nowhere paying double, it is still more viable to make bad rushed games rather than well made games.

Im not changing the subject. Im telling u blizzard dont care about such things and there is no reason for them to change it.

Yes they are. However they change things they want to change and care about. Thats the whole point. They dont care about the same thing as neckbeardd2fanx2000 care about.

whatever, what one thinks is going through their minds doesnt really matter

cain was moved next to wp in 1.1
he being back next to the well in d2r is nothing but a bug and should be fixed just like ebug, weapon switch, manaburn, meph’s terrorized TC, andy’s terrorized TC and so on

any babbling about what flavor of milkshake blizz’s employers like or what political philosophy they follow is nothing but mere rhetoric
and rhetoric is in general entirely dispensable

It’s again the design of the game. It has zero to do with the time it takes to do it.

I’ve worked in agile environments. There’s nothing wrong with managers and program leads wanting a solid delivery date that they can give to marketing and third parties. Nor about how they need to balance their lending/borrowing to ROI.

You’re blaming those people for what developers overpromise and underdeliver right now. As someone who has been in the software world for almost 20 years you’re full of crap.

D2R was a game for example that didn’t need game design. It was just a remaster of a classic. Dead Space 2023 was another example of this. These games did great for what they were.

What this reveals is how flawed the modern design philosophy is. You can throw hundreds of developers at a bad design philosophy and it won’t make it better than bad. It’s still bad.

You tend to end up with overcomplication, redundant systems, immersion breaking content, and no real vision.

So you have 500 idea guys, 10 guys trying to veto the dumb crap, and 100 coders trying to work on whatever they THINK the idea guys want today…

The end result is a bloated mess that feels more like a minigame compilation than a cohesive game.

It’s a story based single player rpg/MMO/Arena PvP/Mount collecting sim/battle pet pokemon knockoff/broswer game/console game/pc game/casual game/end game focused/battle pass skin collector/live service game.

Yeah I just wanna go run Chaos just thinking about that…

Ever tried to play FF14? I still can’t believe they marketed that game as an MMO…

Yeah don’t get me wrong. It’s not the hourly guy at the bottom whose only job is to paint or model a character.

Dev hierarchies go all the way up to design room meetings where senior designers sit in a room and decide what goes in and what comes out of a game.

They literally made a decision to put WoW dailies into D4. It wasn’t the guy at the bottom making character models. It wasn’t the CEO on his boat. It was the senior design crew that lives and dies by the same design philosophy that has been ruining the brands for a decade now.

Blame is deserved.

Aka they dont think like u so they being wrong. I got it. Welcome to the world where more than your opinion matter. If they dont think it matters there is no reason to change it. They have their own free will.

Like i dont think u matter so i wont respond to u more. Go argue about why i should as much as u want. Its rly simple but u still cant understand it.

the problem is
they do think like me
bugs are meant to be fixed and cain next to the well is a bug just like many others they fixed and will fix

nah
the only simple thing here its you completely ignoring it is a bug
which denotes a clear intellectual dishonesty
