Stackable Gems and Runes

To add, we should have unlimited space in D2R like we did in d2, otherwise I hope they add stacking, it’s so easy to run out of room in d2.

Okay? nice to know your needs are more important than anyone else. Its not even up for debate that QoL features like stacking WILL lead to a stronger longer lasting player base. How many people will quit over minor QoL features…probably not many…but plenty of us will not stick around long or not play at all if the game looks and feels like 1999. Maybe if i was 12 years old again with nothing going on in my life id be willing to spend half my time on the game dealing with micromanagement. However, most of us fans are old now, and we like our time. We have jobs and families, and we dont have time to spend hours upon hours doing 20 year old workarounds.

but this is what we want :x the old Diablo 2 with better graphics. What you are looking for are a complete and total remake of Diablo 2 then.

im sorry but this just sounds lazy and family, job, piss poor excuse for it lol. Sorry.

I always found non-stacking gems to be tedious, especially if you farmed them for trading. Moving 40 gems in and out of your characters/stash/inventory over and over again felt like a waste of time and did not add any fun to the game. So I would be up for gem stacking.
I assume a similar logic would apply to runes but since they are way more valuable I find this problem less pressing. It did get me annoyed a little if I did stuff like countess runs though.
Anyway, I can see that the both are connected so for the sake of less time waste when managing your inventory/stash/trading: I am in for the stacking. I would understand if people would not want this for the inventory so let this be viable for stashing at least, that wont hurt anyone. Or can anyone explain the fun in having 3 gem mule characters instead of 1?

No this is not what WE want, its what YOU and a very few purist want, the polls had overwhelming support for small changes like this. And that support will only grow once the playerbase that doesnt live on pre release forums and reddit gets represented.

i wouldnt say… a few…

Agreed. Watching Dbrunski farm Countess on D2R alpha shows why stackable runes is necessary. If not, at least give us a rune stash tab/gem stash tab.

I wouldn’t say necessary.

I’m also fine with it, it’s one of those changes I don’t care much about either way.

I mean it doesn’t harm the gameplay really, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t add it.

I will buy a Rune Tab and a Gem tab where all the gems go and all the runes go and i can upgrade them in my new sexy RMT tab! yayyyyy the future!

It does harm gameplay in one way. As I pointed out before, inventory management meant high level players couldn’t be bothered with picking up low level runes and gems. Why bother when you know you will have to mule them?

When those high level players needed the lower runes or gems for cubing, they would offer items that to them was trash, but to a lesser player was hard to obtain.

This gave low level players something with trade value. It helped get gear to people who had very little.

I play Path of Diablo, and I love the stacked runes and gems, but don’t say it doesn’t harm the gameplay. Stackable gems means everyone will pick up everything, and then the have-nots will have nothing to offer to the haves.

I guess so, but if someone really wants them, they will just pick them up anyways. Not many people trade for lower gems and most people pick up flawless+ gems anyways. This might have more of an affect on runes though, but is that really a major issue to deny people QoL? I don’t think this is going to have as big of an impact as you think. Played PoD before the stacking and after and didn’t see a major change in prices.

Well I do know this. I have 986 full rejuvs on my PoD sorc. :stuck_out_tongue:

As a legacy player I agree, unless it gets abused.

D2:R doesn’t need stackable gems or runes.
I have played game since 2002, I have never had any issues.

Economy? Seriously? This is a game. What? You want to play Richy Rich in D2R because your 401k tanked and you feel bad about your real life, or? That’d be my only guess as to why that is your go-to, “But the completely-not-real-and-totally-made-up-in-my-mind-economy”.
Funny, if I have a chance to help a lowbie out, I just do it. I don’t expect something in return that I can do myself in 5 minutes, but I guess I’m just not selfish enough.

There have been thousands of years of human life where people have said, “I’ve never had an issue.” Yet a change was still made for the better. Did you have an issue before you’ve had a computer? No, but you have one, and I bet you like it. Did you have an issue before you knew how to read? Probably didn’t think you did. Hell, American football started wearing cups for males before they started looking at helmets. I’m sure they did just fine before then as well.

Games have an economy. If you don’t feel this is true, then you must be in the camp that thinks duping items is fine.

Insulting me doesn’t give validity to your ranting.

Yes please, at least pgems.
When u want to start the “end game” of D2 and u have to start crafting ( or rrolling charms) Its a big QoL if u can save all those gems in 1 stack and not to fill up the entire stash with gems. ( When i play mods this QoL is the biggest improve on the game)

Or at least a “new” stash to save all runes & gems, like poe.

No. Because duping items is cheating. Along with a sense of reality and that games are supposed to be fun, and not some made up “wealth” complex, I am also an honest person.
