Stackable Gems and Runes

With mod support you can have your fun.

Each change can have an impact on game, even those about QoL which seem non-breaking or insignifiant.

With unstacked gems, for example, we can only trade a small number of them at once. With stacked, this number would be multiplicated by the max per stack number.

Will this mean that we would be able to buy higher items with gems ? Or will it lower the value of gems because it will be more common (everybody being able to stack them easily, without having to handle mules) ? Will it increase the number of crafted items in the economy ? Will players spend more time picking lower quality gems ?

We can’t predict all consequences, we don’t know if it would be better or worst, but it can have an impact.

With a very big stash, maybe people would keep much more items rather than trying to trade them, since they wouldn’t be lazy to switch between mules anymore.

Even the “Refresh” button on Gamble, which is definitely a QoL improvement, may have an impact making gambling faster, more popular, easier to focus on specific item, etc…

I do agree small changes add up, but it looks as though the devs are going with an approach of ‘if it helps you in town, it’s ok’

I think gem stacking in the stash is ok, gamble refresh is ok, shared stash is ok.

It seems like the 2 biggest changes for out-of-town is auto gold and ultra wide support.

I actually think ultrawide support as seen in the videos so far is :100: percent the biggest change they’ve implemented.

If you can cast blizzard on mobs outside aggro range, it changes the game more than stacked gems, charm inv, personal loot, and many other changes combined.

Wow, that was four days ago. On top of all of that you totally missed the point of my reply. Duping changes the economy, and you said you don’t think economy matters in a game. Duping only hurts the game because it changes the value of everything else. This has nothing to do with your snarky “wealth” complex comment. If you can count something, and that something has a value, it is an economy.

What does any of that have to do with the difference between cheating and not cheating?

Good grief.

Sorry for my delayed response. I got caught up in the real world. With real world issues.
I feel like I did cover your point perfectly, though, since your in-game economy gripe is just some made up BS that isn’t actually anything of importance to begin with.
You give that something value. You do that. The game doesn’t, but for some crazy reason, you still do. Which means that at best, it is sentimental.

LOL.

It does have value. Ignoring it does not change the fact that a big part of this game is trade. You trade things of value. The more rare it is, the greater the value. This is not opinion. This is a fact of the game. IT HAS AN ECONOMY.

You can’t really trade someone a Greater Potion of Healing for a ZOD rune. Why? They have differing values. The game HAS an economy. Any game with trade-able resources has one. The larger the player base, the greater the economy.

I would love stackable anything besides wearable gear.

Have you played Guild Wars, they had a pretty cool materials stacking method in the chest. Basically when you put a crafting material in there it would +1 to that type so it never took a ‘slot’. Have not played project diablo 2 yet, but I heard good stuff on that stacking.

LOL You are all right OMG XD

I agree, would be nice to have stackable runes and gems to avoid this tetris playing in your stash. You can’t have enough space

Devs - plz play Project Diablo 2. The qol they have for gems and runes is just soooo nice.

yeah if anyone actually plans to play this game for the next 20 years. we are going to need at a minimum 100+ mules. i counted up all the mules id need if i had unlimited characters. it surprised me that its actually 85-100. that is not even factoring in ladders. that is taking it to the absolute extreme though.

Posted this elsewhere. Might as well post it here too haha

If we are limited on stash space, I would be able to get behind stackable gems and runes. They aren’t the kind of thing your hoard in your inventory, so I don’t see this changing fundamental gameplay.

Stackable gems & runes would be amazing.

Probably #1 most important quality of life adjustment they could make.

Yes, bring on stackable gems and runes! If they don’t want to do that, they should at least make a rune+gem tab in the stash and let them stack in there.
