SOJ dupe was an issue fixed 23 years ago, time to update DClone spawning mechanic to something else that needs a sink now

Salvage unique items for scrap
Higher tier grant more scraps
Scraps can be cubed into essences and then cores
fill the cube with Cores to create " Terror’s Prison" key

total cost: 60-200 salvaged unique items

Perk:

  • having a sink for all those unique items that drop
  • Making Dclone a chase rather than luck
  • Giving value to bad unique items

You gotta watch a streamer spawn DClone live sometime… it is mind blowing to see 3 stash tabs full of sojs lol

There Will never be any salvage to scraps, and there should never be. However they should expand the cube recipes, and Maybe change the Way dclone works, so you have control over it.

Pretty sure dclone spawns for the whole server now. I have more annis than I can use and I’ve never sold an SoJ.

Hard disagree
It opens up a whole system of recipes and opportunities

  • salvaging uniques gives scrap
  • this creates a sink, making every unique that drop somewhat valuable, bringing back the hype sentiment
  • From that you can have mechanics such as aforementioned dclone spawned
  • Larzuk socket
  • cosmetics
  • extra gold
  • crafting recipes
  • upgrading uniques

Yep, I have to constantly give many away for free and I have skipped some dclones here and there if I’m on a char that isn’t great at killing him… This stupid argument with folks like sekscalibure keeps coming back, it definitely doesn’t need tweeking…

Congratz for you
But current Anni availability doesn’t change the fact that it’s a bad spawned mechanic
Was created as a sink for something 20+ years ago but that thing doesn’t need a sink anymore
Something else does

Significantly improving the gameplay experience

Which paired with other uses I mentioned above, would generate a choice from players on how to spend those ingredients through multiple mechanics

The only thing that needs to happen with the Dclone spawn mechanic is governing of the number of SoJ’s needed to make him walk.

If sales are high, raise the number of SoJ’s required to make him walk.

If sales stagnate, gradually lower the number of SoJ’s back down. If the gradual lowering of the sale count results in matching the current sale count, then Dclone will walk without any active selling.

As far as your ideas for further mechanics to the game, those ideas belong on modding forums. In case you don’t know, even though it’s been mentioned to you countless times, D2:R is labeled as a Remaster. So please, go spam your game mod ideas on modding forums where you might get the attention that you seek.

Yeah, I agree with this. The current mechanic only empowers the people who run bots even further, while the rest of us have no way to contribute, because as a normal player, you’d have to be out of your mind to sell one to a vendor.

The current system doesn’t involve 99.999% of us. Imagine if only billionaires were able to vote in elections lol, that’s how exclusive the Dclone spawn system is.

As long as Blizzard continues to do nothing vs botters, they will always be the muscle used to cheat the system, no matter what mechanics are involved.

The only other way to beat bots is to make all desirable items so common that they are completely worthless, thus making playing the game beyond completing the storyline pointless.

Personally I don’t mind Dclone walking every now and then, but when he’s walking every 15 minutes, it gets annoying, which is why I suggested governing of the SoJ sale count.

More good ideas shot down. The people against this don’t want the game to grow in popularity, at all.

You and others don’t seem to understand that D2:R is a remaster, meaning they are going to largely stay faithful to the original game, with minor tweaks here and there along with a bit of QoL. What you and others seek with your sweeping list of dramatic game altering changes is either a game modification, or a different game entirely. Yeah, it sucks that mods aren’t multiplayer in this game yet, but as time marches forward I’m sure they eventually will be.

If you want new game content, there are plenty of new games out there for you, there are mods for this game that you can play, or go create your own mod for this game!

Some of us would rather the official game stay as close to a remaster as it can, because some of us know that Blizzard is not capable of making meaningful changes to this game while staying faithful to the original developers vision of this game.

Changing what material it uses to make a DClone spawn is a sweeping change? You do know that the DClone using SoJ was made specifically to combat duping. Fixing duping removed the need for that to be the sink. I don’t understand the push back, but wanting to say that some QoL is allowed.

Bots are going to have the upper hand making Dclone spawn faster than a human can no matter what mechanic is used, so the only option to slow down the dclone spawns is regulation. Some people want “new” so bad they think that adding different mechanics is going to help for some reason. Yeah it might slow down the bots for a week or two until the bots are updated to take full advantage of the new mechanics… Is that all you want? Just a week or two of slowed down Dclone spawns?

Another thought to consider is the top spot for bots to farm SoJ’s is NM Andariel, meaning the bots that are targeting her for SoJ’s to sell for Annis are not going to be finding the majority of the best items in the game, which by itself does a part in slowing down the massive influx of items shortly after ladders start.

Basing any decisions with bots as a factor is utterly idiotic
They are inevitable

So might as well not consider them as a variable and give the best and most intertwining mechanic to the human players

That’s what a salvaging system and its multiple applications would do

Sounds good for a mod, not for the original game or the remaster of it.

Except it’s not the original nor a remaster
You and it can claim it’s a remaster all you want but with all that’s missing and all that’s added… it’s not

Which to you, a little bit of change makes room for more change. You think it’s an excuse to slather any and all ideas and changes that you think are good into the game just for the sake of change.

Again, your ideas are fine for a mod, not the official game of D2:R. Why don’t you go force feed your ideas to some mod forum?

Remember Clonageddon froma few seasons ago when Hael and Will spawnd UberD every 15 minutes for 24 hours and then some?
Over ten thousand SoJs … actually 12,500 since they burned the rest the weekend after …

No. There can be no changes. It’s D2. They need to revert all changes already.
