Skiller GC's give +1 to Class Skills instead 🌈

Cube all 3 tab skillers with HF torch of same class to make this happen and i confirm! xD

Honestly I would agree… as its just another thing to strive for…
However I should note that the cube is 3x4 so a torch wouldn’t fit with 3 Grand charms. Maybe a rune instead?

Also while were at it lets make a large charm that gives 1-2 to a random skill that can be used on ALL classes.

Or expand the cube to 4×4. After all, it’s a cube and should have equal sides.

Massive power creep. Imagine getting Holy Shield or Lightning Mastery or Find Item as oskills.
Or Battle Orders or Teleport. Oh, wait…

@cube
Lets make it 4x4x4 its a cube not a square. seriously though it wouldn’t really hurt and would allow for more complicated future recipes like 2 armors together to make something.

I mean yea it is a pretty insane power spike, but obviously certain spells could be off limits. (passives are an obvious candidate) I would personally keep teleport just so people have options beyond enigma… obviously a teleport charm would end up extremely rare if were keeping ~150 skills on the table. but it would give players a reason to grab those large charms

Thats the point. I wrote a recipe, that you cant cube :stuck_out_tongue:
Maby standart of heroes, soj and Mara 30 - that charm is that OP, you should pay a part of your soul.

why would buffing every single build stop meta builds form existing?

it wouldnt, massive buffs are bad and not needed

The entire inventory and all items are 2D. Making all of that 3D would need a massive overhaul and remove that old school feeling of inventory management. Not everything has to be 3D.

Crazy idea: remove all oskills from the existing items (replace them by charges) and make them available only on such a charm. Make the charm unique, so you can have only one at a time.
Then you could use any skill from another class, but only one. Maybe Teleport, but maybe another skill, depending on your build.

I prefer sc with 7 to all. saves the space.

@3d this was sarcasm, I barely even imagine them trying to do some wierd minecraft style inventory where you have to move stuff around in 3d space to make it fit… it would be beyond dumb, simply a retort to the ‘cube’ comment that wanted 4x4 because realism.

@skillcharms
Honestly I would go the other way and replace most charged items with +1 to +20 to a skill (with the bonus being capped at +5 if the skill is above level 20 from other items or skill-points)
though I do actually like the idea of limiting the number of non-class skills you can equip to 2 or 3 possibly INCLUDING aura items

i can get behind OP’s idea as long said class skillers are 10x rarer than the regular tree skiller we already have

reaching the point where you dont have to swap the skillers in your inventory just to play another build would be a new goal and expand the item hunt/end game without increasing the general powercreep

Until the issue with bots is solved once and for all, rarity doesn’t matter. The market would still get saturated with such charms.

OP 1.10 RWs were also supposed to be extremely rare and more of an endgame reward, not a mundane stuff they are right now.

ROFL how is this not power creep?

Free buff for every class especially for the meta builds.

It shouldn’t be a very big buff to the deep synergy builds like for example Full Fireball/Meteor/Hydra or Full Lightning or Full Blizzard. Paladins win out because their Auras are in a different tree than their actives. And Javazons get some more Dodge.

They all get basically a free energy shield option, more def and more mana reg and cheaper teleport

Palas get more damage and more utility

Java gets more free pierce additional to a lot more dea

Druids get a lot more hp and tankiness thanks to zoo buff

Necro gets free zoo buffs and bigger area curses

Sin gets more free claw block and fade

A lot of those free buffs are an issue in PvP too and it’s power creep.

There is no denying that +1 class skills is strictly better than regular +1 tree skillers.

It’s just another way of mitigating the pigeonhole effect of the synergies system.

I can’t think of a way to neatly both increase the viability of hybrid builds AND keep the specialized builds focused (not get free skills in other trees with 1-point-wonders).

Fight the cause and not the symptom. Reduction of synergies-> better hybrids

Agreed, the synergies system itself is the main culprit.

I do however actually like synergies :relieved: I think it’s cool how some skills like Frozen Orb has few synergies and others like Meteor have many and varied ones (Inferno increases the ground-burn damage).

Tbh synergies should mostly exist to put low level skills in-line with high level ones later in the game and maintain their usability, unless the high level skill explicitly replaces the lower level one, then they are present to give value to a prior commitment. Hybrid building should be the rule, not the exception, specifically because of elemental immunities in hell… (though tbh I feel monsters resistances should cap at 75% even in hell with exception to elites whom should cap at 90% with imune being reserved for ubers, and unique elites)
Fire bolt should synergize with fireball, and meteor, fire ball should synergize with fire bolt, and meteor should have no synergies.(also the impact should be 50% physical damage)

Now you could viably go bolt + ball Or bolt + ball + meteor Or bolt + meteor OR meteor
With bolt+ball you would certainly struggle in hell, however with 40 points to spare (after fire-mastery) you have enough to reasonably spec into another skill like blizzard to deal with resistances and add utility. Ice bolt synergies: blast, spike, orb; Ice Blast synergies: spike; Glacial Spike synergies: blizzard; Blizzard synergies Spike. Frozen Orb no synergies.

Now we have: Blast + Spike, (boss+CC), Spike+blizz (AOE+CC), or orb+bolt(cost all 100 points and icebolt might do good as 50% physical damage), just orb

Masteries themselves are another source of pain for the sorceress because they shoehorn you into an element. Lightning could reduce All mana cost by 2% per level After level 10, but only provide 6% bonus to lightning damage
Fire mastery could provide 4% bonus to fire, and 2% FCR per level after level 10.
Could mastery could provide fire/cold/lightning resistance at 2% per level and reducing cold resistance by 3% per level after level 10.

Anyways a bit off-topic :stuck_out_tongue:
Skillers are one of the big offenders in limiting builds because they force you into a specific tree… This isnt so bad if you can only get +4 or +5 into one tree over another; but when you are facing +10 it becomes impossible to ignore.
Amulets add +1 (+3 to a tree, vs a +2 to all skills)
Weapons add +1 maybe? (since hoto adds +3 to all skills, I cant seem to find anything that adds more than +3 to a tree, or +2 to all skills and +3 to a useful tree? The only exception i can find is a +6 to javalins, or a +6 to bows? Though that is functionally still only a +1 because you could run both just missing out on Call to arms.
Shields can add +2 (homunculus, vs spirit)
Helms can add +1
Charms can add… +7(assuming a Sunder), and enough room for a cube
+9 assuming min-max and no sunder

Now you’re thinking like true Diablo bender :cyclone:

To recap the limiting factors for hybridization:

  • Synergies
  • Masteries (Sorceress)
  • Skiller Grand Charms

I like your idea of giving the Sorceress Masteries more varied effects that can be used with other elements - FCR and Reduced Mana Cost. The latter is actually exactly what Lightning Mastery did pre-LoD.

The most obvious way to make low level spells viable would be Mana Efficiency. If mana was more of an issue, you’d want to cast Bolts instead of Balls and Spikes etc. depending on the situation.

legit players fun shouldnt be limited bc of cheaters
and cheating is a whole different problem, this is about itemization

negligible

no change in their run times

her run times are still limited by casting frames, no change here also

druids needs buffs, no problem here

necro needs buffs, no problem here also

saic needs a nerf, sin needs a buff, no problem here also
