Skiller GC's give +1 to Class Skills instead 🌈

With the current amount of bots it wouldn’t matter. Even now every player has access to ultra rare endgame items that wouldn’t be found in years of cheat-free SSF playing.

In your thread you said try my best to tell you what is overpowered. I just thought of those as an answer and Hammerdin would clearly again be the #1 class which it isn’t like it isn’t up there already. I solely theory crafted it because you presented it as an option.

Meanwhile for most normal current builds it would make almost no difference.

Now as for…

Just because a charm would allow you to gain +1 to any skill it wouldn’t make any more viable builds. It would make hybrids better for sure, but none would be viable due to their lack of synergies or spells that work well together. Just because you could now make a Tstorm/Orb/Fireball sorc and they would receive the +skill from your charms wouldn’t make that build viable in any meaningful way. Even just simple plain dual spec still would be worse than having a narrow focus.

And I am happy that you gave your input. I hope you also welcome my retorts. There’s plenty of room for respectful discourse that non the less challenges opinions.

So you basically want to push the A and S Tier characters?

Suuuuuure Paladins and Sorc need way more buffs. Sure.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

Imo the F tier classes benefit as much as any other if not more. Take Summoner Necro and Zoo Druid. They can now do stuff on top of having an army.

if your at the point where you getting skillers and you still feel like your character is too weak, you might want to token bc you probably messed up the build somehow

please stop trying to make the game easier, ESPECIALLY in the end-game

You know what’s easy? Copy pasting a cookie cutter build. Any moron can do that.

More build diversity is the opposite of making the game easier.

It’s a bit harder and a lot more interesting and fun.

This would help the Druid builds.
Summon Druid could 1 point wonder into Wolf/Bear and now crush act Boss’s.
Wind Druid would now have a Zoo in the level 30+ area.
Shape Shifter Druids now have a Zoo that is much more than a meat shield.

Trouble is Pally’s just got even bigger more meaningful boost as most Pally builds (that I am familiar with) have synergies in different trees.
Tesladin can pull 8-10 points out of Conviction, place those in Combat Skills, and gain 8-10 points in all combat skills… when really he’s nothing but a Zealot whole deals lightening… he just got everything he ever could have asked for.

So you made Druids better, but made Pallys that much better again… I believe this is called power creep.
I don’t know about other builds, but I’m guessing it just moves everyone up a notch… again, I believe this is called power creep.

Good run down. And yes of course +all skills is strictly better than +tree. And if everything is buffed then that is the definition of power creep.

But that doesn’t invalidate the change. If you only accept changes that keep everything at the same balance… Good luck with that.

You can instead just nerf Hammer damage by 24% on top of the change to skillers. Or give them another synergy dependency. Or make Concentration Aura not work with hammers, and buff Hammer damage a little (or not).

Even disregarding the balance between classes, it’d still be power creep. Such a change would, in case of Druids, invalidate the choice between caster, summoner and shifter builds, as every build would use summons. Other classes would also get some skills ā€œfor freeā€, for example ES in case of Sorceresses.

These are all legitimate points in my opinion. I actually did think of those but I don’t have a solution to them.

I do consider them acceptable evils though until a better solution to hybrid builds comes up.

Something I thought of a while back was to take some of the… less desirable… +skill tree prefixes and make them into suffixes instead so they can get doubled up with useful +skills or resistance prefixes for utility. I was thinking like Zon Passive/Magic, Barb Masteries, Pally Def Auras, Necro Curses, and Sin Shadows. Sorcs obviously don’t need any doubling up, while Druid trees all seem to stand on their own pretty well.

Of course you could also wind up with silly combos like +1 Sorc Lightning / +1 Amazon Passives, but it’s not like that would be worse than a plain Lightning skiller.

Can we chase off Sekscalibure from these forums again?

True.

Dont know, this one is pretty bad, its just power creep.

i think all boots should give 60 frw. - that’s how you sound to us.

Love that guys sense of humor.

These buzzwords get thrown about liberally as if they validate or invalidate anything.

Power Creep is about seasonal changes such as The Great Next Tier 17 Class Set. It’s the same as Tier 16 but 20% higher stats. It’s not a concern in D2R. We don’t get new stuff anymore.

The Mosaic Runeword addition is classic power creep to the extreme. But only if they tried to balance the OP’ness of Mosaic by subsequently giving each class a similar game shattering Runeword.

And by ā€˜us’ you mean people like ā€œGuitarā€ ā€œJesterā€ and ā€œTheDarkJediā€ :older_man:t2::older_man:t2::older_man:t2::older_man:t2::older_man:t2:

And it needs to cure cancer, these zoomers are so spoiled. D2 seems to be too hard for some :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

If there’s one godlevel skill that Sekscalibure has, it’s starting threads with suggestions he knows the majority of the community will disapprove of, for the sole purpose of the attention that comes to him when arguing with others.

Muted.
