Its pretty different. In WoW all your gear is devalued, so if you play through the new expansion, you are mostly as good or better geared than the high gear from last expansion, but the expansion is not meant as a reset, that’s why its an expansion.
The Ladder RESET is meant to even the playfield for everyone. Nothing new is added, it’s just a “RESET”. That’s why having “old money” in a new Ladder is unfair.
Personally I don’t care about the ladder race anymore as I don’t have time to commit to it. So I’d be glad to keep some wealth if there is an incentive to play ladder, so I don’t have to spend so much time gathering new wealth to play the game the way I want. But I get why people who want to compete for the Ladder are unhappy.
But as it’s free for anyone to create a d2jsp account and gather wealth for the new ladder, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal as few here are trying to make it.

Runes are a made up currency and people trade them for real money. If you get down to the nitty gritty even “real” money is made up currency. Just ignore trades in FG and use common sense on what tools are best for you. Don’t try to dictate to other people what they should do with their own items or money (“fake” or “real”).

Isnt d2jsps forum gold a global currency on that site? Meaning you can earn forum gold from selling PoE items for example which then can be used on D2R items?

Exactly. To add to your points, trading in-game also takes forever. If I want a specific item I can create a game titled “need XX” and wait 3 hours until someone joins? Or you join a trade game and hope for a slim chance that someone has your item. Then add the fact that there are so many scammers. Probably 50% of Shakos and Tal armors being traded are scammer trying to rip off unsuspecting players. On JSP you simply buy what you want and continue playing the game, simple and stress free.
If games displayed correctly I would use the game and trade items. D2jsp makes it easy when people just lowball you all day you can ignore without any interaction until a worthy trade comes along. They need to make it to where I can post my items from my stash and request what I want for it. If someone comes along and has the items I want it should then do a swap with no interaction imo.

So,Llama posted about a “SoJ community event” On a live stream and then people complain when OMG! Random people join in…JSP or Not he made it a public event and like it or not people on JSP are in fact public…
Edit: Also a guarentee 100% that Llama uses or has used JSP in the past and that a good portion of the people that give him items use JSP to get those items.
I’ve read everything, runes are not a currency but ingame items used to make runewords, selling such items for real money is against the ToS and I’m not gonna ignore FG because of “convenience”.
D2jsp is not, by far, the only way to make trades, Sanctuary discord as always an average of 10 000 players connected at any time making trades.
That said players are totally free to use tools available to them, I will personally keep seeing forum gold as RMAH but with a 3rd party profiting of trades and call it out.
They aren’t being sold for real money, so your TOS argument is dead in tracks.
