Who? Are you Blizzard? I wasn’t talking to you. I was referring to the unintended mess this patch has become, so chill my friend just ease off a bit.
I just tested this in the game and it seems only skills are denied access to the mouse scroll wheel. The denial isn’t all encompassing, as you can still apparently bind a skill to scroll click, just not the up or down functions. It would be nice to see this rectified purely for accessibility if for no other reasons.
Edit: Meant to hit the big reply button, not the reply link in the post above me. I really have to remember to do that when doing a global reply.
Sounds like what they need to do is have 2 separate Diablo 2 Resurrected versions. One for people that want these experimental foundation breaking changes and one for people that want the old game with bug fixes and graphical updates and NOTHING ELSE. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF PETE…
I’m afraid that won’t happen. Having to maintain two distinct code bases within the same client is a non-starter. The best you’ll get is options that can be toggled on or left off like the current client does.
Last I checked you there was nothing in the patch forcing anyone to try quick cast.
Did I miss something?
Where is there such a comment like that?
It is only an comment that describes a person who change the traditional way of playing you think as a nightmare.
I’m a person who thinks changes are okay.
So I said I was sorry.
I just want the new function to be improved.
I could probably get use to the quick cast. But controller is still superior for me. (Analog movement is just much better)
Legacy is….I’d just stop playing.
This I can agree upon. I always quote someone if I am referring to one of their posts. And yes, some changes are okay, but not when they remove/break stuff to make room for it.
But he wasnt talking about auras only, he mentioned zeal charge, smite…
“For example, Paladin often changes aura skill while moving.”
his literal quote… I’m starting to be convinced that you are just a troll.
You can stop stalking me across multiple topics now dude, its toxic and creepy honestly.
Yes and he also talked about other skills.
Same issue seen. Before quick cast, when running and switching auras, the character will move smoothly. With quick cast, the character will just stop moving
then take your own advice… you are literally doing that. You are not the only one with opinions on a topic dude…
WHO CARES, if they have mentioned other stuff him and multiple other are referring to the moving stopping WHEN THEY SWITCHES AURAS. which has nothing to do with animations. So your comment “of course it does, your character need to do the animation of casting dude.” is absurd.
He chose quick cast NOT merely for auras. Zeal/vengence, smite, charge etc all benefit from quick cast.
He said changing Auras with quick cast has a minor issue (cause movement to stop).
That is NOT the same as the idea that he is using quick cast primarily for auras, which some of you are arguing about hence missing the point.
I didn’t argue that at all… I never once said it was primarily for auras. Just that when he is using quick cast, switching aura stops him… that has nothing to do with animation. nor did i suggest he uses it exclusively for auras, but it’s a either/or kinda deal. you turn the quick cast on and it uses it for every single fkey
Maybe I misunderstood you for some others. My bad
It should be noted that if you have a spell or ability that has a cooldown and use quick cast to trigger it, should it fail to cast for any reason, even if you would normally be able to re-attempt to cast (via manual keybind switch + RMB), you will not be able to do so via quick cast, and it will still stop you from moving.
So if your skill with a cooldown fails to cast (meaning no cooldown was triggered), you’ll still have to wait out the normal cooldown period to use it via quick cast. The way they integrated it appears to really wreak havoc with movement and how abilities work.
I think it goes without saying at this point that for some reason or another these devs are not using the PTR system and they need to be doing so. Had they put 2.3 up for a PTR cycle all of these bugs would have been caught the very first day and then they could have fixed them before pushing the patch to the live environment.
Vicarious Visions really needs to start doing PTRs or they’re just setting themselves up for failure and making both themselves and Blizzard look bad.
I tried the quickcast on my hybrid sin. And really did not like it.
Maybe its habit but I feel like I dont have control over position of skills that way.
Also I think for PvP it would break namelocking so I wont be using it.
Its a Physiologe issue, you are use to mouse click where you want to your trap or something, & keys on keyborad to activate something (not position).
In reality clicking a mouse button to cast something at said position, is same as pressing a key to do so.
You just have to give some time to adjust. Otherwise, an alternative is to put skills that need positioning on side mouse buttons as well.
