Queue Times still not fixed?

How have the queues gotten WORSE since they implemented them.

That’s what I’d like to know.

Why did I spend 40$ to buy a game but queued from 17h >> 23h still can’t enter the game?
After the queue ended to go online, I got the offline section again and after I clicked online, I had to queue again?

Sorry but at this point they should just refund every player. it’s litteraly unplayable, we all paid for unplayable overpriced game noting less.

We’re all right to be upset. This state of affairs isn’t acceptable. This is another heartrendingly botched release from a company that has less than no excuses not to know or do better.

Blizzard Entertainment is the company behind World of WarCraft for Christ’s sake. This isn’t EA spinning the wheel and randomly assigning Single Player RPG Maker BioWare to crank out a multiplayer looter-shooter. This is their thing, this is what they do, and they completely screwed it up.

The only question is, who specifically is to blame?

• Did the QA engineers not do their jobs and load test this properly?
• Did the infrastructure developers know about this but fail to fix it?
• Did the money goblins not budget for the necessary hardware?
• Or did some mincing executive declare “PENCILS DOWN, FINANCE SAYS THIS SHIPS NOW.”

I’m fine with holding a company to account when it fails, but companies are made up of departments and people. It isn’t enough to say, “Blizzard BAD!!!” because that doesn’t get to what the exact problem really is. What part of Blizzard is bad, who specifically screwed this up, how, why, and how can we make sure this never happens again?

from what i’ve gathered for eastern time, trying to play in the mornings or weekends is just a no go. never have Q times in the evening or late at night. on switch and PC, my queue times never seem to move or if they are moving, at the rate they are it would take several hours to log in. this game will die and be left to a small playerbase that the current servers can handle. don’t see any reason for blizz/acti to do anything about it. they already have our money & won’t benefit from improving the situation. best thing i see we can do as players, is not buy diablo 4 or any more games from the company.

I one hundred percent agree with your post, it would be wonderful if we can hold this company accountable.

Would be nice if we could, but everyone knows the only way to do this is to not purchase their trash again. But… when they drop Immortal or D4, we will all throw them money again and end up complaining again, because it will be trash again.

It’s 200am here in Hawaii, I am 73 in queue and haven’t changed position for an hour.

It happens to me 5-20 times every single time I try to login in the morning (US CDT). I’ve started to open the game in the B.C. (before coffee) and let it sit in queue while I try to wake up. Usually takes 2-4 hours!

I’ve read the “patch notes” from a couple of days ago. Lots of discussion about adding timers, etc. to make the queue waiting time less painful.

But, the problem is, those mitigations only impact that specific queue. It doesn’t do a thing that is the biggest problem of all: having to sit through multiple queues to finally get into the game.

Making sitting in a queue less painful doesn’t really do a thing if I get to enjoy that “gaming experience” 5-20 times every single day when I attempt to actually play a game I bought in good faith.

Hmm? What do you mean fixed? Blizzard constantly goes back on their word over and over and over and over again… they claimed temporary, which probably means <> permanent. O.o

so funny too this is why players cant play, but the chat bots also just take up space. there no reason they cant chat ban over queue time. its not like people even use the chat system so like more then 10 posts in an 10 mins should be kicked from server. to much algorithm for a big company i guess

As someone who did QA professionally for a software company (A US based software company with a worth over 2.5 BILLION, serving 250k clients) I can state it is EXTREMELY unlikely that QA didn’t catch the potential issues and bring them up to supervisors/managers.
Hate to say it as a fan and player, but it is also highly likely that members of the Development team noted it (The massive potential for issues) as well, but people above them - READ Management and or the VP/C level employees stated we aren’t rewriting the architecture now, it takes too long & costs too much. Instead we will put short term fixes in place.
Once we confirm the revenue/demand is where we need it, we’ll go rewrite everything.
It’s super sh*tty for the customers but it’s a common tech practice to put off doing the right thing because of how long it will take and how many resources it requires. - None of that is okay imo, but in their eyes better to have a game that COULD be playable for some now, then have a fully functioning remake in 3-5 years due to arch rewrites…

yeah , wait till you crash once you are in; heck i just crashed while in the queue and writing this.

Yep, you are 100% correct. Someone made the call that it was too costly to fix upfront, and they failed to account for the blowback they are going to receive from their fan/player base.
It sucks but it’s highly unlikely it is the type of issue they could throw a thirds party development team at this and have it solved in weeks.
This junk happens when you have managers/VP’s demanding Date based assurances instead of QUALITY based development.
Personally I think those in charge of the project - by that I mean the ones that made the call to delay updating the server arch should be answering all of these posts personally…

Since this game cost was premium for just a re-skin, its unacceptable that we deal with such a crappy online structures.

Queue time a regular monday by 7h00 am ? getting the server connection problem every 2-3 games is crap.

not only queue times are not fixed, there are servers down on top of that.

its 8 am on a bloody monday.

This is beautiful. A zon, a barb, and a necro started questing in Act 1 Hell, defeated Andariel, killed Radament for the freebie point, made it past the irritating maggot lair to the claw viper temple, and promptly got defeated by a crash to desktop and the dreaded queue. No more party. Just beautiful. It’s been weeks and I gotta say… my patience has worn off by now. I was even ok with queueing up to get in to play, but once in, one might expect to stay in, but apparently one would be wrong.

The global feature is there so we don’t have to make new characters to play with others in different regions.

if anyone interested, I’m logging my daily queue experiences over the last week and half.
