So you are trying to say the servers that ran 20 years ago got it right but they cant do it now? How the hell do you think those servers that were 1/1000 the power of these ones could do it and somehow we just cant have a modern day do the same?
Just stat in queue for an hour. Just to go to an empty character select screen and placed in an even longer queue. So cool blizzard.

Then stop using a global database and just use regional servers? I couldnât care less about being able to play with people from Europe or Asia. Nor do I care about crossplay progress nonsense. Iâm a PC gamer I donât even own a console. What actually matters is my only play time being EST mornings and those always having a 1-2 hour long queue⌠Only way to even attempt to play is leaving the client on over night⌠then just quitting when it crashes⌠as it always does.

Literally how did At&t run this game better with OLD SERVERS that canât even compare to modern day ones? Can you explain how you didnât get a full rundown on how they hosted battlenet? How do their potatoe servers run this game better?

Well, I did not get that info because I donât work there. MVPs are other players.
All I can do is point you to the pinned thread talking about the Global Database issues - which is what is going on.
They took the data save system that worked for the local servers USEast USWest, etc and tried to scale it to a Global level over top of all regions and consoles too. That database architecture and code does not work at that scale.
It was fine in 2000 for each Region, but not in 2021 Globally.
It is not a hardware thing. You can read the sticky post on it. It is a pretty big screw up not to anticipate the old database being an issue and to not test and fix it before release.
I dunno, I bet Charsi, Akara and Kashya would make for a pretty challenging boss fight. 
So what you are saying is they took a perfectly functioning game that people were literally still playing and broke it then put it up for sale? Sounds greatâŚ
Finished a 30 minute q to be shown an empty character screen, choose go online, qs twice as long as previous, so an hour? I guess.

No, they left D2(2000) exactly as it is. You can play that on the old Bnet servers right this second. That is one thing they did not screw up - they left the old game alone. Unlike WC3.
This happens to me a lot too. If I sit through the queue I do NOT want to be popped offline and have to queue AGAIN. I had it happen 5 times in one morning last week.
Then today my queue was 27 which took 15 mins. It was around 8am Eastern.
Much better than last weekend where I was 375 or something on Sat morning.
It needs a ding when I connect so I can take a nap and be alerted.

my fav is the chat spamming bots that take our places so we waitin in endless queue times

How is this possible Blizzard? We paid the game full price.
Many of us have limited time available for playing.
And when we can, we hit a stupid queue that stays at the same position.
So we end up not playing at all.
This is getting ridiculous and frustrating.
Any idea when this is planned to be fixed?

Mines been at 158 for 40 minutes now lol.
I donât even have time to play at this point, just letting it sit there for the giggles.

Well started my D2r adventure this morning 7.10am was 249 queue now 7.44 and still 2.49 lol its broken but its getting old long waits like this on the weekends.

Im also waiting in long queues and incredibly frustrated by it. 1 hour so far on a Saturday morning⌠fun times. I guess the only thing I can do it post here and hope someone cares to read the post and take the feedback.
Please continue to work on this problem and find a way to shorten or alleviate queue times or Im sure I will end up losing interest within a month or so.
