if you dont have pretty much every item in the game you want by now, you either: 1. dont care, 2. dont put any time into the game, or 3. are horribly misusing the time you do play the game.

I will say why does blizzard need to change the online game mode? What if they had a timer program and could actually find/remove afk botting players? I know I know that’s where blizzard makes their real profits.

Well yeah, what we want is the features that existed in TCP/IP but with at least a bnet level of protection from flagrant cheating. I know flagrant cheating is rampant on bnet, but it’s not hero editor level.
I mean sure, but it gauranteed requires more work than just adding P8. Its time this game kicks the disgusting bots/FGets/RMTers to the curb from the ground up. No buyers = RMTers need to find a new game to infect.

Side job? I’ll believe virtual items in Diablo are selling for thousands of real dollars when you can prove that a 20 year old games virtual property holds any value. Imo I couldn’t bring myself to slog through d2r with the goal of making a rl profit. Imo it’s the same Chinese funded organizations that figured out dumb people will pay through the nose for what they want right now, 20 years ago! If non Chinese people are copying/reaping the rewards more power to them TAKE THAT CHINA! we can cheat/no life too. I saw earlier steam gift cards as a means to profit. Ok I’ll bend since I don’t have to refresh my chars every 90 days like everyone else, I don’t have to regear or make new mules. My old gear on old mules…doesn’t auto delete due to my failure to log all those chars in every 90 days. You know how account sharing got so bad? But this all floods the market in retrospect to how LoD played out vs d2r. More stuff that isn’t getting auto deleted equals more stuff readily available 24/7.
I will admit I did pay real money for virtual gold on a Ultima Online server. Was crazy I got 300k gold for close to 150 cash dollars! :(). I did end up buying 2 houses one a medium size and the map space available was almost maxed out. I was a multi accounter 10 bucks a month per account with 4 before I quit. UO is the reason I lost a lot of my og diablo 2 lod chars.
But tell me more about how much I could be reaping a profit playing a 20+ yo game? I should probably expand past this forums trade section and traderie. I can’t make a profit like that, other than in game profit.

P8 is as is and is what it is and ain’t going away. Best to hope for a tweak of the numbers in your favor vs botters. Oh that’s right botters win regardless. Your talking 20 dollar loot vs 2 dollar loot. If there is a profit beyond the expense to harvest that profit then it’s gonna be exploited.
More like bot farms are vending HRs to lazy casuals at ~$3 a pop. Don’t pretend that you play multiplayer and aren’t aware of this, there is a never ending train of spam bots in the lobby and trade chat which players are not allowed to disable who will keep spamming you their various URLS long after you’ve exhausted the limits of your ignore list with spam reports.

Bot farmers (blizz fault) and casuals (people who dgaf about grinding and have available $ to burn) will always exist diablo or no diablo. You can’t stop people from paying to get an edge. It sucks but hey I just solo ladder and see how long I can fight off the monotony. No sunders yet but horker has found more wealth in HR in the last 2 months than what I’ve farmed since d2r launch.
I checked I made it to 4 ist runes on NL. Got to 5 in the first month of this ladder alone. And my best rune drop yet d2r or lod got a vex. Seems trivial now as I’ve cubed up guls to make a vex for a trade. Some day I’ll p8 my way to a LEGIT enigma, can’t wait.

You are right lobby is broken af. Since day 1 of d2r I tried to socialize on it and all you get is spambot floods. You are right to this day blizz spam bots are at it nonstop and I’m glad I figured out that traderie exists. Plus this forum has a modest trading community I can’t snub.
So, when trade is flooded with stuff that regular guys get from playing P8 on battlenet solo or with 2-3 farmer buddies you HONESTLY think bots will be as profitable?
The issue is not just the players will find more, but the bots will too. EXACT SAME AS ANNI ECONOMY NOW. Blizz made it pop everywhere all the time. It now rains annis from the sky. Its getting to the point im annoyed to see dclone in my game.
So what are annis worth? Pgems at MOST. Bring that age old economic concept to P8 bnet-> guess what happens to bot/3rd party seller goods??? Drop in value like a rock. When bots are competing to sell bers for 10 cents per, and a other company offers 9 cents per. Guess who is going out of business? You can make more off cellphone games than that.
