Go here and try this. I wasn’t able to load my single player offline characters today. I did this and was able to do so. I’m not sure if you are getting the “failed to load game” error, but that was the error I was experiencing.

[SOLVED] "Failed to join game" for offline character after crash

Whilst playing in game, my PC crashed (likely caused by the game itself, however irrelevant). Upon restart, I fired up the game again, and tried to play as that same offline character, and I’m faced with the error “Failed to join game”. Restarting the game does not solve this problem.
