you can’t even say a+ss. this is incredibly annoying when there’s a class called assassin.
I know. Filters tend to be very very poor at sorting out real words vs ones they want to limit.
That is why for most people they prefer a toggle. That way private messages and private games are not impacted.
Can you imagine their reaction if they could see how people acted back in 2000? LOL
Yeah, well, now the girlfriends of said mother’s kids want to control everything just as their parents did. It’s no longer about being “christian”, it’s about being woke.
This is peak clown world. You have a grimdark game that shows butchered bodies everywhere and yet swearing is going too far.
This is such nonsense. Now because blizzard higher ups are a bunch of dirtbags they have to go overboard on everything else. If Im in a game playing with my friends theres no reason why I shouldnt be able to turn off this filter. Give us the option. Absolute joke of a company
Its sad. Back the in day the succubus didn’t even have a top on because they are lust Demons. Nothing bad came of it. Its just a game. Now we get women turned into bowls of fruit, overly covered up like its Afghanistan. Somehow being attractive is a bad thing now. I guess less attractive people might get offended? WTH is going on? Now our language must be Censored. We are regressing at an astonishing pace.
Put down the pitchforks everyone. The setting is in the battle.net launcher, not in game.
-Cog wheel next to “Play”
-Game Settings
-Friends and Chat
-Chat section
-Uncheck “Filter mature language from chat”
I didn’t find it myself just passing along information.
This is a game with blood and demons and I am not allowed to swear in it? Americans and their damn political correctness.
I have my filter turned off. It still *^&@# words on D2 lobby.
I agree!
Allow us to toggle it like every other game!
Really should be off by default, this is a rated M game. Can’t recall ever having chat filtered in D2.
this is a rated M game
Ratings don’t apply to online interactions. The gameplay is rated M, not the chat.
I’d be ok with the ability to toggle it on and off, but trying to separate gameplay and chat is a poor argument. With the ability to ignore people that you don’t want to talk to or report for harassment, people will be fine.
but trying to separate gameplay and chat is a poor argument
There is no argument. I was just stating a fact from ESRB website. I don’t care if people cuss in the game or not. Trying to use the “this is an M rated game, I should be allowed to cuss” is not a valid argument. Game is rated M for Blood/Gore/Violence, not Online Interactions. https://www.esrb.org/ratings-guide/
Interactive Elements highlight interactive or online features that may be of interest or concern but do not influence the rating assignment of a product.
theres filters in wow, so thats nonsense
Not sure what you are trying to say here. The filters exist, yes. In other blizz games they are a toggle. Regardless of filter though the same rules apply. Turning on or off the filter does not change what happens if you get reported. They will action you if the chat logs show you broke the rules.
Tons of WOW folks come to the forums, esp CS, to complain about being Silenced. Then Blizz forum staff check the ticket records and yeah…
Why are you taking it so personally? She just posted the rules. Isn’t the whole idea of this that people aren’t so easily offended? Guess not.
I think it would be simpler/better to have filters working in read mode and not write mode.
Scenario:
- I have filters off
- you have filters on
I write profanity > I see my text without censorship.
You do not read profanity > you will see my text with censorship.
you should get out more. either way it should be a toggle option as with many other games.
