Ppl don't want to play with ppl in d2r

The only reason ppl play with others in D2R is to Spit up to farm separate areas to find HR. This seems true to me accept for rushing/playing to hell difficulty. Something needs to be changed and maybe im not the 1 to suggest anything but the whole situation seems ridicules.

If this is the case I think solo players need a buff or players in the same game get nerfed to solo or 2/3 player count if not in the same area as others.

Its hard to find games to play with others if you haven’t any friends online/playing D2R as games are so fast your always joining an old game that is empty or the farming area you need has been done and seems like a dis advantage to those who cant play with others/friends .

All im saying really is make make solo play worth it but not as good as 8 player however that would work. As we all know 90% + of players play solo maybe because all loot is free for all, an old system that could be improved. For instance … those with a lower ping will grab that ber rune long b4 others will ever see it. So why would ppl play in groups. Its all bad really. great game but awful multiplayer systems.

im ready for the hate comments

False. I am not reading past this statement because its clear your mind is made up on your incorrect assumption based on who knows what tunnel visional data…

People play with eachother to level up early characters unless they are playing their own Solo Self Find campaign.
People play with eachother to level up end game levels.
People play with eachother to MF as well as you said.
People play with eachother to duel (PVP)

Do we need more reasons to play with eachother? Probably couldnt hurt, but still, dont make sht up to advane your own, thin narrative please.

Call things like they are.

Join d2jsp and discord groups…

duelling don’t count.

Im really just talking end game once your 90+. Yeah levelling maybe a thing but not likely to gain any HR or Gear out of it but once your past that its just farming as fast as possible and if you have friends to do that with your at a massive advantage.

yeah late game ppl dont want to play with other for loot, i play barb for horking left over corpse, and the player lv98 PK me, im even far behind the maps.

you joking right? id never join d2jsp, its the biggest joke/con/disadvantage to a fresh season to any1 who likes a fresh start. It should be taken down.

If you like only playing solo and want the benefits of increased player count in the game, that feature is already available via local single player.

It’s not for Battle.net, as the whole point of Battle.net is for multiplayer.

Dueling definitely counts.

Well then they need to make ubers stronger and some areas stronger to promote team play.

Farming loot and HR’s its always been the solo way or play with a group of trusted friends, ergo, still works.

i like trading just not on d2jsp, why would i play offline? also i didn’t say i like playing solo, its just what im having to do most of the time, if you read what i said you’d have realised that

Reading what people say and reading what they really want are sometimes in conflict with each other. There’s a term, “beating around the bush”.

And the OP to me reeks of “giev us /players X on Battle.net” without specifically asking for it.

making the game harder giving us higher than hell difficulty would be a great improvement, yielding greater rewards for harder content.

They will never go to those lengths for this game. They will however buff areas, they already have done that. The request is go bigger. Buff the Ubers, Re-Buff the cows, make existing parts of the game better instead of doing anything gimmicky like the mods or D3.

im not saying give us players x as such, I just think an improvement need to be made some how, maybe allow solo play to go higher than hell difficulty.

I also feel that the addition of a 4th difficulty would be good for the game. The currently difficulty curve has been flatlined by the player base learning the game over the past 22 years. HOWEVER, there should be no further power creep to allow people to play that new difficulty more easily!

I had another thought on how to put the Standard of Heroes to use as well:

There’s nothing inherently wrong with this though.
What is it you’re looking for? Playing with others online but not split MF, but not together because you don’t want to fight for loot, but not public runs because they’re too short? What kind of play style are you looking for?

The biggest problem with D2’s multiplayer, is that it was created during a time when looting systems were not well thought out for playing with randoms; the innovation wasn’t there yet. When D2 first released, there was not as many PC gamers, and the game was developed mostly in mind for playing with friends you knew, like a college dorm or something. Also, it was unique and one of the only games in town that was this multiplayer action rpg. Nowadays, these games are a dime a dozen, especially just multiplayer games in general, thus it’s harder to keep a steady group of irl friends playing the same game.

However, while presented in a less than eloquent way, I do agree that the multiplayer aspect of D2 is pretty lackluster. It’s fine for just getting through the game faster, rushing, or playing with others when you build subsequent characters through normal and nightmare, but in general, feels like a waste of time when you get through the game faster, are a high level, but have nothing really to show for it. I’d rather burn slower, and get loot, and ramp up exp for Baal runs (yawn) then move to next difficulty.

Some people think D2 is all about the competition for loot. However, the fact that botting is a thing in mostly any game, auto loot scripts, and the split mf farming games pretty much paints a different system.

It is what it is though, but I would still hope Blizzard could improve upon the formula and make multiplayer feel more worthwhile as opposed to some farce of a fair competition.

Yea the toon build and loot distribution mechanics dont encourage share mf but split mf.

In other games I’ve played you cant have builds that solo bosses that is scaled up to multiplayer. Also the loot sharing mechanics is such that the drop goes to whoever organized that particular kill party and people takes turns leading kill party mf grinds. Not saying thats a better way but just showing different game mechanucs that promotes partying.

Just another “Change this 20+ year old game” thread?

Diablo 2s loot system is… Special. It can bring out both the worst and the best of those who play it.

When working in a team with family and friends, you are more likely to share drops. If you are playing as a Paladin and you pick up a piece of Tals set or Occy, you’d probably give it to one of your friends that is playing a Sorceress to help them (and the party as a whole) do better in the game.

On the flip side…

When playing in a random pub game… GIMME THAT IT’S MINE!

absolutely man, sharing epic loot with friends can benefit everyone if playing together regularly. I always loose out on the grabs from random multiplayer games maybe due to ping or just my old man reactions. In the old days there were mods that auto looted the gear, I dunno if that’s still a thing.
