Ploot & You: A Winning Combination

If Ploot would bring more people to play together, I would be for it, the problem is that why would they start playing together, ther eis not enough loot to distribute it amongst 8 players.

Well if it doesn’t encourage more people to play together than the worst case scenerio is that we continue to have the same amount of people playing together that we do now. But I don’t see why people wouldn’t take advantage of this option. Many here have voiced a strong desire to see this option. I would spend time in public ploot games when I’m half watching TV or something. Down time play. I think it would be a casual “side MF” play style.

when you say there is no argument against this then it shows you have no interest in an honest convo. this is pathetic. do better

No, I legitimately have spent hundreds of hours in conversation with this. There isn’t a rational argument against it. I’m very fair in that analysis. I used to actually be against ploot and switched my position because of this fact.

Well, there could be an argument against it that’s valid – it’s just that it hasn’t been presented yet. Certainly feel free to present one tho. I’m not trolling – this is my legitimate observation.

For me it has to stop at core elements. and the loot system is one of them.

Since I joined this forum I have the feeling that certain people want to change the game completely. They want to make it a completely different game.
And I don’t like that.

But as I know Blizzard will screw it up anyway…
The people who scream the loudest get what they want. Is always the way it goes…
I personally stop playing the game immediately:
if they:
-they change the loot system
-change drop rates
-change difficulty or introduce “more”.

(like d3. It doesn’t get more casual than that. Just don’t make the game hard so that the stupid lazy players don’t have to overcome any hurdles or even THINK to achieve anything).

i dont care about jsp.i dont use it…so…pff
i dont care about the lobby…i wanna play…not chat.
i dont care about the ladder. i play hc only and dont want to delete my chars after a ladder…

no, you came in with the attitude, my opinion is right and everyone else’s argument is wrong and there every single one of them is irrational. you arent open to the talk. congrats on agreeing with yourself. ignorance is bliss i suppose

This has been my fear for years, myself. When D2R was first announced, my first thoughts were “oh great all the D3 kiddies are going to come in and try to make it D3”. I get it. This isn’t that. It’s a small option that doesn’t change c\game play or economy for anyone that wants nothing to do with it.

If you aren’t interested in it, it doesn’t affect you what so ever. So there is essentially no change to game play.

Well I consider it a challenge. If there is a rational argument against it, all one has to do is present it. Until that’s done, I stand by my statement.

except it does, it changes the entire dynamic of online play, even if only in certain games. if you cant realize that then you arent being honest and realistic. if you TRULY believe it wont affect someone whatsoever then you are beyond naive.

its not a challenge, its an attitude that is undeserved and pathetic. saying MY OPINION IS RIGHT AND EVERYONE IS IRRATIONAL UNTIL THEY PROVE OTHERWISE I AM RIGHT GG LOL I WIN. thats how a child prefaces an argument. do better

Well I mean yeah, it changes the gameplay for people interested in using the ploot option. That’s a given. I’m talking about the game play and effects for people not wanting anything to do with it: their gameplay remains the same. Their economy remains the same. Nothing about the game changes for them at all other than maybe the public game list gets a bit longer.

Alright, sorry I hurt your feelings. Can we move onto the substance of the topic tho?

except it doesnt. people that may have played with them before, dont. did you put more than 10 seconds of thought into this or do you jsut want ploot so badly you arent capable of considering ALL of the effects

I’m not sure what you mean here. Are you saying that people who were previously forced to play FFA games won’t always have to and will be able to play ploot games, therefore you are effected? You think holding people hostage to an inferior game play is the right way to go?

The way I see it is that people who might have otherwise quit will remain playing with more ways to play the game. But certainly, holding people hostage to what YOU like in the game is not a valid reason to bar how they like the game.

not until you concede how ridiculous the starting point is. cant have a real convo when you start it the way you did. I think your opinion is irrational that it wont have a global effect on everyone and until you can prove differently I am right or you are just strawmanning

the problem i see is: Ploot makes the loot system casual…it devalues it.
and the loot…

with every change the game becomes more casual. Because today’s game industry just keeps it that way.

but “the old” D2 is not like that. and the loot system is not like that either.
and the remaster shouldn’t be either. Otherwise it doesn’t deserve the name.

if you can’t handle it you should play something else. But don’t ruin it for everyone else who LOVES the game the way it is.

god i hate today’s gamers… envious, lazy, no time, everything fast fast and easy. And the thanks for that? they play a week and then there’s the next hot gamestuff… and for that they should change a legendary game?

i don’t know…

meh…we will see what happens…

thats a strawman argument. you simply said that if you dont like it then it wont affect you. it doesnt matter if you can justify me being affected. thats irrelevant to the argument. you are trying to change the argument from - you wont feel any changes to - the changes you feel are deserved because you shouldnt hold someone hostage.

just like i said at the start, you arent interested in an honest conversation and it took you very little time to prove me right.

And if a Ber drops how do you decide who gets it? Lol

I don’t see how this works tho. What defines casual in this sense? Doing solo MFing is less casual? How? This is just another way to MF. A LESS productive way to MF, so it doesn’t change the min/max meta.

And again, this is something you can already do with friends. You can already roll on every item if you want. This just streamlines and automates it.

my argument is pretty good, WHO GETS THE BER RUNE? HUH… who? it’s garbage system for this type of game, end of story…

if we have a 8player ploot game, and 1 ber rune drops, who gets it and why? is it fair? explain to me.

Well look, the fact that there is a thread about it “affects you”. If that’s the level of “affect” we’re talking then ok, ploot will affect you. But it won’t affect you in any meaningful way. Illustrate a meaningful way it will affect you and we’ll talk about if the word “meaningful” is appropriate.

RNG decides. RNG on top of RNG. RNGfest.

It’s fair because that’s the system everyone agreed to when entering the game. One doesn’t have to do ploot games if they don’t like the system.
