Please put PERSONAL LOOT

Yessir. Lay it down and speak the word. He speaks a bunch of fancy words but yes this is exactly what he is doing

The loot system doesn’t necessarily need to be FFA to accomplish that. This is how Grim Dawn feels, for example. Guess what loot system Grim Dawn has.

Actually, personal loot would give less frequent gratification in comparison to FFA - at least if you’re good at FFA. Equalization of loot doesn’t mean instant gratification.

Also, how can you be okay with gifting, but not personal loot?

Since personal loot wouldn’t do anything to your ability to trade in your games or overall, how did you come up with this garbage?

well there u go u have a game to play there. D2R will never have ploot!

do u even need to ask? giving an item ain’t the same thing as adding gameplay options that doesn’t belong in D2R!

it would harm overall trading for everyone.

so NO ploot now and not even later.

The mob demands PLoot.

#PLootIsBetter

That is not the reason why we want PLoot and why its better.
But I will explain it to you:

First of all, since some people have a wrong understanding of what is in reality private loot, lets define what personal loot is:

Privat Loot is nothing more and nothing less than expliting the chances of getting the drops betwen the party members, it will not have higher chances of getting drops for them. It will basically be the same how it is right now but instead having the drops appearing for everyone on the server, they will be dropped only for the lucky member that recives it. This doesn´t mean that more drops will be droped or that if someone recives a drop all the party members will recive it as well, the drop rate will be the same so the hard grinding aspect of the game will remain as it it right now.

Why Privat Loot System should be added:

There are multiple reasons, all of them evoke common sense for a remastered game adapted to the current age of videogaming, the multiplayer era:

Right now the party members ping plays a crucial role determinating who will get the loot when it is dropped, catching the loot takes place in fractions of a second so even the smallest ping difference betwen players can be decisive, that brings us to the first point:

-Ping difference betwen the party members.

D2 is a game oriented to play in teamwork but the current loot system, who pick it faster gets it, is totally againts it. FFA loot system incentives a selfish way to play the game instead a more cooperative and game of supporting each other everyone playing his character role, totally killing the inmersion and creating a meta game anti-coop: Tank like a robust barbarian, weakening enemies, supporting the team with auras being a paladin, defeating monsters from afar by shooting arrows with the Amazon, clearing large amounts of monsters stacked with spells with the sorceress, creating a huge army of minions with the necromancer, etc, etc. Other than that, each class can specialize in different types of play style based on abilities and stat point distribution.

This is what makes the game so fun and replayable, being able to play different characters each with a unique play style and the possibility that, even playing the same character, it can be played differently depending on the build you choose with. points when leveling up.

Sadly, the current looting system makes it practically unfeasible to play some classes as an archer, because you must quickly move to the place where the monster that is about to die is going to drop the loot, thus losing the essence of some classes that are based on in the long distance game, killing the immersion and making it quite boring and counterintuitive: an archer should not approach the battle if possible, for that use arrows; Neither a necromancer, for that to create an army of minions that fight for him, etc.

Ultimately, some classes are very favored with the current loot system, while others are forced to play the way they shouldn’t or they won’t get any loot.

  • Privat Loot will be fair for all the classes and builds, will incetive to play like a real team and not like mercenaries that only want the loot, caring too little for the rest of the party. It will also enable new builds that are almost non-exist due to, right now, being force to go into mele combat for the loot.

The current loot system is based on being prepared to collect the loot before the monster dies, so what experienced players do is stop attacking the monsters before they drop the loot, some say this is skill , from my point of view this has nothing to do with skill and is rather questionable style of play, in short, the game is based on killing monsters as soon as possible and moving forward with the rest of the team supporting each other by playing their role.

For the game to stay alive and fresh it needs people playing, the vast majority of less experienced and casual players seek an epic experience in a large group and take down monsters as a team, in relaxed environment in which each one receives their share for the work they do, therefore they will not be forced to play single player if the private loot is implemented in the game. Which translates into more people playing multiplayer, keeping it alive and with more rooms to join, maps to play, and more.

That brings the last point:

  • More players will play the game.

If they add a toggle or PLoot, the PvP community will filter by Loot Allocation and insta-hostile. Those games will become the new PvP lobbies. Ears, as far as the eye can see! Gold stacks you didn’t have to work for, just ripe for the snatching!

“Not even death can save you from me.”

Since you disapprove of others choosing an option, you suggest a PvP response to ruin other’s enjoyment of their game. Personally, I prefer a live and let live attitude.

Also waiting for that screenshot.

“the mob”

what mob noone even liked your post… Meaning noone agrees with you bucko

You know you cant do exactly the same with FFA loot system right? In the other system you can lick your cheeto stained fingers and loot when you feel like looting, in the other system you need to be next to monster at all times and hands on mouse and keyboard.

PS. Dont mind Bugles, hes just passing by to collect more salt into his jar

Sad truth for you is that blizzard doesnt care to please the modders or mod community because its so tiny. Also i dont think they ever been OK with modding community as its breaks their eula or smth, they just let it happen on d2lod because blizzard abandoned the game and dont care whats going on there.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
i live in argentina with the WORST POSSIBLE INTERNET and still won loot with just click in to it (D2LOD and D2R)
This argument is SO LAME

you can always get what other people discard (not everything is word trading)
Immersion was always parts of the game. with free for all is like that KILL LOOT AND MOVE ON FAST.
You can shot arrows in front of the monster, you can throw spells in front of the monster. you can create minions with the necro in front of the monster
DUDE This argument is for real?

you don’t need to be on the other side of the map shooting arrows, you can though but is not mandatory

Yeah the necro should just run around HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA MY GOD

you know the thing called “playing with friends”? yeah i know right?

if you are looking for gear in a public game (that the main reason of it is leveling you complete missed the point of diablo 2

you also can use a private game you know? for something exist the option of setting password to them

Strange that even 21 years later. Multiplayer game on D2 has never been an issue and all the sudden because “reasons” it is

change the experience of D2 and it will not 2 months after release the majority of whiners that demand a change that they don’t understand (implemented or not) they will move on to the next game of the month.

In fact the OG of players that dont support your loot system will not play

i dont know why this people keep trying to change a game that has a a premise on its web that wants to mantend the classic gameplay

Classic gameplay—the same Diablo II you know and love, preserved.

if you don’t like how the game worked in the first place why the hell you buy it?

Also you keep forgetting this dialogue

When are you gonna admit you want ploot because you want to join botgames and leech their loot on top of the exp?

PoE is not an example. He said he hasnt SEEN a game with 2 different loot distributions for different public games.

  1. There is no public games in PoE because ploot is trash and a dead feature.
  2. You should take your own advice on PoE and make your own games for farming wealth, ploot is not gonna make public farm runs a good option no matter how much you THINK it will.
  3. End of story.

PoE has 3 different loot systems. and public games. So yes, it is a perfect example.
Most people not playing public games is irrelevant for the fact that it exists. And the reason public games (and MP in general) is not popular in PoE has nothing to do with its loot systems (of which FFA is one).
Denying PoE as an example would be laughable at best. Even if not surprising.

Depends what you mean by good option. It factually would make it an option.

Thats not how companies work buddy, they dont implement things “just for the sake of it”. If theres no proper incentive to do something, they wont. And as it stands, there is no proper incentive in ploot for them to implement it. They are better off using their money and time on things that are more important and not remaking the game. Im sure most people would be happier if they spend even that X amount of time or money manually banning bots than implementing ploot. Unless you are selfish and want every single player to be tormented more by bots just so you and handful others can have the OPTION of ploot, while it cant be even called a QOL. Unless you are selfish and want every single player experience even slightly more rubberbanding because they are implementing ploot so it can be an “option” instead of fixing netcode or bugs or whatever.

The truth about plooters: They want ploot MAINLY so they can leech on bot baals/cs run for loot on top of the amazing exp they are getting. Theres no other real MOTIVATION to be so hungry for it really.
What a selfish bunch of people.

It would exactly be QoL.
Blizzard wouldnt implement it for the sake of it, but to offer players more options to make their game more enjoyable to play.

More enjoyable in the sense of making it profitable to leech botruns. I guess you can call that qol if you want.

game ain’t going to be changed because ppl having different internets!

noone tells u to play this game! there’s more games to choose from!

have literaly nothing to do with loot system!

there’s no right or wrong way to play! and noone will force to play if it’s too hard…

it’s not majority! and these ppl ain’t the ones keeping game alive…casuals/refugees will leave after couple of months anyways so not valid…once ag in instead of trying to push something that is not happening, everyone that wants remaster to turn remake with ploot etc shoudl start from beginning. like start asking own server for ploot/changes and after that move on! trying to get this done and causing a train wreck like this ain’t happening! like it was already announced!

Useless reply if I’ve ever seen one. We’re not asking for personal loot because we don’t have a game to play. I’m probably not even playing D2:R at launch, at least not after the first couple days. Much more interested in New World.

But giving an item to someone is instant gratification for them - they skipped the loot hunt. So if you don’t like personal loot because of the (misguided) notion that it somehow serves gratification then you should HATE gifting.

The number of items dropping remains the same, so how does trading get harmed?

Hm. So, what if I proposed loot not drop in multiplayer?

Mantend, huh?

Let me ask you this - if there’s a separate option for personal loot, then how is classic gameplay NOT maintained?

It does if certain class/build combinations have a worse chance at getting loot.

Wrong. Casual players are what keep games going. There simply aren’t enough of the other.
