So I’m trying to get fully into learning and creating runewords. But my problem is. Some of these mid tier runewords require at least 1 high tier rune like LO, LUM etc. (I’m not even talking about BER or other high ones. My question is, how am I supposed to farm for these high runes in hell if I’m too weak to even get through the 2nd mission without dying? (Because everywhere I look, it says to farm the countess on hell… I could go for lower runewords but seeing the stats on m
Some of them. I got better or almost as good of a gear.
Countess is a good spot but there are other places with better drops. Doing cow runs will net some good runes. You can also do ancient tunnels in A2 (lost city wp, looks like a trap door).
Will high runes ever drop in nightmare? Cause I can do cow levels there(a little harder but do-able)
I’ve read that Lem can drop from NM act 3 Lower Kurast chests. I’m not sure where the cut off point is.
While it’s good to learn the runewords, relying on them to be able to continue is not a great idea. If you have the runes great but holding life up until you get one specific drop isn’t going to get you through the game.
If you can’t do A1 in Hell it’s best to drop down to Nightmare and level up a bit. Do some Diablo/Meph/Baal runs in Nightmare and perhaps you will get some gear that will let you deal with Hell.
You can potentially get a Mal in Nightmare A5. Lem in A3, but these are top tier drops. Best option is find a more realistic way to get what you need out of the game. I.e. I needed more lit resistances for my summoner so he doesn’t get fried by Gloams. If I could just get an Um I could make a bone armor for him. Instead a Grand Charm with 27 lit resists dropped. Use what you have.

And that’s exactly what I meant, I ca do everything in NM but I need runes that is said to only drop in hell. Sooo confused

Also you can upgrade runes in your cube. I do it a lot. Look at this link below for the chart.

Level 62 Zealot paladin, enough str to wear gear, dex to max block with holy shield and rest in vit. Like 97-130-200somethinf. I’m not exactly sure cause I’m not at home.
First problem is your lvl 62 in Hell, you are probably missing a lot. Run NM Baal/Diablo till you hit lvl 70. Start Hell at lvl 70. Your ‘to hit’ rating is dependent on your level vs the monsters level. You are low vs the monsters right now, you want to be higher than them. Act 1 Hell starts at lvl 67, you are 5 levels lower. There is a thread just below this talking about a WW barb missing all the time, same exact issue.
Baal runs till 70, that’s what you need, not runes.

What weapon are you using? You probably need a better one.
Even a lightsabre will let you cruise through p1 in hell.

Simply level up your character.
Runes have a level requirement and high runes require a high level to drop and use.
Sure you could trade for them online but really runes are sort of end game.
Wouldn’t want to waste a good rune set on some low quality armor. Yeah know?
in single player, you can combine the runes in the cube to make the high runes, but, online i believe they want you to interact with other players. Hence why more runes drop on higher /player settings

I have the hexfire shamshir so my damage is like 680-1005
You definitely need a better weapon. Doing a few baal runs hopefully nets you something.

You don’t NEED runes. You can finish the entire game without ever making a runeword.

before LOD, runes did not exist and the game ended at Diablo.
You’re awarded the 3 runes for the shield resistance runeword in the final act questline (to remind you that it’s it’s an expansion) But you also get that resistance scroll during the questline incase you dont use a shield.
That was my problem when I first got into Hell some weeks ago. I was struggling becoz of my poor Resistance.
I can farm gold over and over and gamble it for a good resist gear but it would take long. I was just targetting for Lum rune and I never had a single drop above ‘io’ rune. I was like a bit disappointed becoz I have the skills to progress in the game but I am on the mercy of RNG.
I went to forums and someone advice me to use Diamonds on Shield but I was already on Spirit Shield. Downgrading to Diamonds shield could be an option but as much as possible I dont want to do it.
It so happened that I could do Countess Hell kill over and over. A little harder for my gear but doable. I did that and did some Nightmare cows. I didnt get a Lum rune but I did get 3x ‘io’ runes. I just cubed it into Lum rune and my progression continued.
I have beaten all Hell all on Solo. To me, Nef Lum is critical to progress on Hell difficulty.
Also in your future, I also find Lem Ko Tir very critical too to beat all Hell. Runes would take care of your Helm, chest, weapon and shield. But you need to force the game to get you Hell-quality amulet, rings, boots, belt and gloves. You need a very high MF% and Gold Find% for Gamble or it would take you very long time to beat Hell. That is just beating Hell.
To faceroll Hell, you would need Runeword gear with Runes above Lum in quality.
And beating Hell all on Solo is very doable.

Thank you for the advice. I do have quite a few runes for decent runewords but I might do some baal runs and see if I can get some better gear. Maybe I get lucky along the way and find some gear that’s better than what I have on
