Please Fix Chat

Friendly reminder that this product is still in pre-alpha.

One of the few posts that I 100% agree with on here … OP hit the nail directly on the head. I totally concur.

even though its only been 2 posts since my last post, its been 8 months, so i want to reiterate… this is still the biggest issue in d2:R

Why won’t neo-buzzard take this low hanging fruit?

Cause that would take time and money away from Blizzard’s cash cows.

Reminder: Chat is still pre-alpha levels of broken and regularly fails to deliver in-game messages. RMT Spam bots seem to have no problems though  . Pure disgust.

yeah also responding again so this gets more visibility.

just allow us to block the spam bots… thats all i want
i mean id love for you to tackle the actual bots too, but i understand that would take actual time and money.
but FFS just give us the same damn chat filter you put in LOD and give us an unlimited block list… this is isn’t exactly difficult.
i don’t quit a few weeks into each season because items value are ruined. ( although it be nice of they wern’t)
i quit because i cant find a person to play with…
BECAUSE WE LACK LOBBY BASIC COMMUNICATION.

just give me this. give us back our lobby, give us communication…

Fixing chat, or any of the other problems this game has requires Blizzard to care about this game… With the chat/lobby issues being around as long as they have serves as a good measurement of how much they care about this game.

D2:R was the worm on the hook to bait the older generation gamers into buying Diablo 4. That worm has long since been eaten or has drowned.

The broken chat is pretty sucky. When I enter a trade game and post in game asking if they still have the item or still need an item, and get no response, I leave. We both miss out.

This happens more than I’d care to admit.

But I guess they don’t care about legit in game trading and I am starting to get suspicious of how over the past year maybe 5 spambots on my ignore list were banned when I last reset it.

It’s almost like they get paid for allowing bots in d2r.

Maybe this ladder they spent the time doing the minimum basic work of fixing the chat and bringing it above pre-alpha level? Since they didn’t waste any time adding more bone-headed game breaking content. Right? Nah, probably not.

I recently come back to this game. Once a legend is now ruined. Nine in Ten games are bot. Message not working.

9 Months Later… :skull_and_crossbones:

It’s a player generated problem fueled by GREED, which offers temptation to use automation to farm items to sell to those willing to open their wallets. It’s just proof that limitless open trading is a scourge to online gaming.

Remove trading from or heavily restrict trading (like Diablo 3) in the game, and most of these problems would vanish. But this is Diablo 2, that would never happen. Too many RMT website owners bots would complain en masse about removal/restriction of trading.

Me, I wouldn’t know anything happened, because I got tired of the BS long ago that I only play SSF, or with close friends with the agreement that we’ll only trade with each other. (Which honestly is usually just giving each other items.)

Thats the game. Thats why things like a gheeds charm can go for an ohm rune or why the best of the best items can go for multiple jah. Runes are actually so rare but they are an efficient thing for $ sites to sell since they only take up 1 space.

Its a fun game!

In this case it’s for a worthy cause at least. :stuck_out_tongue:

Blizz should’ve fixed the spambots (like they said they would but didn’t) and chat bug ages ago, sadly we both know they likely never will but I don’t mind people bumping issues like these, much better than most of the crap that people necro heheh.

normally I’m against necroing posts. but this one is unfortunately necessary…

please give us these

Surely you realize by now? Only one Diablo can exist and that is Diablo 4. The reason for this is they didn’t do anything truly innovative to seperate Diablo 4 from Diablo 2.

Blizzard can maintain WoW classic and WoW modern at the same time as they are different experiences. The same can’t be said about D2R as it directly competes with D4. And in many ways D2R can outshine D4 with very little effort.

This is why the devs are truly tinfoil paranoid about updating D2. It is a risk too great. Blizzard made this game and deeply regret it, hoping everyone forgets about it and plays D4 instead, that’s the sad reality.

In an ideal world yes, D2 and D4 could live side by side but we don’t live in that world.

Personally I don’t enjoy trading, but I know many who almost exclusively trade. I found a good group of people and we just give stuff away.

Blaming trading is a copout apology for Blizzard refusing to police their game though. Pretending nothing can be done about rampant public botting, spam bots, spam games, etc is pathetic. This problem could be solved easily.

Never solved with wow, d2, d3, haven’t played d4 but I can imagine same thing, poe, lost ark, last epoch, rs, etc etc. Played them all, they all have the same problems not because they pretend they can’t do anything, but because there is no way to turn a profit on a modern arpg if you want to police it. The only way to ever enjoy these games is to play for yourself and friends/family. If it was easy & cheap, they would have done it. It is neither.
