I was trying to make a plague rune word on the cryptic sword a moment ago, but it turns out failed
Plague is Ladder only RW.
Those are not the same thing. Plague is a NEW runeword that is ladder only. Ladder has not started yet. the infinity situation is that they are allowing OLD runewords to be made into different weapons. These won’t be ladder only.
Whoop my bad, i’ll try to remove my post if possible so i won’t mislead anyone
Thanks for your answer. I wasted my Cham rune
I wonder with everyone trying to create the new ladder only runewords now, if these items will activate post-ladder when the capability to create them moves to non-ladder. Food for thought, hold onto the item if this is the case.
That’s probable, but no guaranty it’s going to act retroactively.
Yeah, not 100% however it seems likely with our recent Infinity issues panned out for players that had the gemmed weapons.
GG no RE
Down with the min characters
If it’s any consolation, so have many, many other players. Blizzard kind of took a spin in the epic failboat when it came to making the “New runewords and set upgrade recipes are ladder only” highly visible in the patch notes. A lot of players skipped over that line because it doesn’t stand out visually. Any text color that is different from the white/grey they’re using in the patch notes would have worked. Light blue, yellow, bright red…anything other than what’s there now.
Unfortunately there is no real way to make these activate retroactively without seriously jeopardizing existing versions. We already saw what can happen when that takes place - players lost their Infinity runewords yesterday after having them “fixed” so it worked properly.
See above why that might not be something they attempt again if they can avoid it.
If anyone was wondering just why ladder didn’t launch alongside the 2.4 update, well, now you know.
It was not stated in this one patch note. There were 2 before this one, in both the information was included, and before that was the interview whit the devs, hosted by llama. It was also mentioned there. People need to train their memory, not to forget critical information.
