Before they close this thread because of the massive derailing. I’d like to make a point on the original consensus: Let’s hope they do a banwave.
It won’t matter. You can ban the cheaters, new accounts, new hacks and new bots will arrive. While I agree in this very special case that guilty until proven innocent is a correct approach, it won’t change anything.
Just gear up to watch the game be invaded by bots and scripts, it’s just the nature of the beast. And Blizzard will only enforce the notion to not USE it, not the attempt to CATCH the players USING it.
For you new players: Our hearts were broken 15+ years ago when the game became a botfest, it didn’t change then. This is still just a coat of paint on the same game with the same company - wipe away your tears and get back to farming.

If they only auto-pick-up good items, they’re definitely cheating.
