It is VERY easy to spot hackers using this, Blizzard are you going to do some ban waves or give us actual tools to report?
god i hope so. since it would be account ban, makes people less likely to do it.
How do you know it’s PickIt and not people using controllers?
Its really easy to spot someone using a controller vs a pickit hacker. If the items disappear in a uniform fashion one after the other, someone is using pickit. I’ve used mods pre-Resurrection and once you have used similar mods in the past you can usually spot the difference.
So basically you have no concrete evidence here. Just that items that happen to disappear one after the other with 8 people clicking on them like mad.
Got it.
There is concrete evidence, even youtube evidence all over the place. Most classic D2 players will tell you how many mods we used in the past, including autograb mods and even bots. There is a very unique way pickit works, once you spot that…you can easily see the difference between pro-grabbers and even throwing controllers into the mix.
Lets say baal drops 6 items, all in a line 1 to 6. If ALL the items disappear one after the other, almost mechanical then that is pickit. If they disappear in a random grab, then it isn’t and if you pay enough attention, you will see it…I’d like to say it isn’t super common at the moment but it is getting worse, especially with static runs.
With mouse, if you position yourself carefully at the sweet spot and literally mash your mouse button you can usually grab something, but when multiple pickits are vying for the loot, it gets harder and harder, Blizzard didn’t really do anything in classic D2 - people modded, used farming bots but that was much later after launch. At the moment, this is a growing problem for Resurrected, and will almost guaranteed to become a problem for season 1 ladder if not addressed.
Wrong.
Let’s say we are basing this speculated PickIt on the previous version that existed/exists in the original D2. That one had a simple config where you would tell it exactly what you wanted to pick.
If you are seeing EVERYTHING getting snatched, that’s telling me that people are clicking like mad and picking up everything. Pickit wouldn’t loot whites, blues, many rares unless appropriately config’d, and even some uniques would get skipped.
I’m not going to argue with you because seem to be defending a known problem with D2, which leads me to believe you maybe using it and trying to justify using it. Between pickits, map hacks it’ll only be a matter of time before a pindleskin bot reappears…if it hasn’t already.
Blizzard, I strongly suggest ban hammer for pickit hackers, as well as beefing up security.
I strongly suggest you get some common sense instead of immediately shouting HAX when you don’t get that Sigon Shield you saw drop.
Also I didn’t defend PickIt at all. I did debunk your theory about it being used to snatch everything from you though.
You debunked nothing, we all know HAX exist in D2. Heck, I used them myself pre-resurrected back in the day when Blizzard didn’t really care if you used them, heck you can play classic D2 right now and mod the hell out of it, heck you can even do your own searches on [redacted] and you’ll find [redacted]
If you want a fair and level playing field, then everyone should be on board to ban the use of 3rd party scripts for resurrected, especially in open games. Same with dupers, heck I’m looking at a video on youtube right now showing a hacker using a pindleskin bot…so I guess that is already a problem then.
This is so incredibly stupid. You claiming you “know” these things exist and are out there right now (in D2R) because “this is clearly a HAX because I’ve seen plenty of HAX in my time” is straight up nonsense. Bring some irrefutable proof to the table or just allow Blizz to do what they are gonna do. You shouting unsubstantiated claims from the rooftops does nothing but create extra noise.
Do you honestly think it would be a good idea to create a mechanism in-game to allow easy reporting of suspected hacks? They would be so incredibly flooded with reports that the function would be completely useless.
Controllers, the new scapegoat for pickit programs and the new fallacy for cheaters to say that pickit is not in the game and that it is controllers who are stealing loot.
Cool story.
So you just assume everyone that snatches loot from you before you can get it is using PickIt? Do you have a brain? You do realize that controllers can literally grab loot before it hits the ground in some instances, right? AND that it would essentially behave the same as Pickit with no filter, right?
ANNNND that what ol’ boy was describing before was basically Pickit with no filter… RIIIIGHT?
Mane… thinkin is hard sometiems, bruh.
Also, gotta add that I love that anyone challenging this garbage logic is instantly labeled by you people as a “cheater”. Really gives you some extra credibility there.
I have played D2R everyday for 8-10 hours using a controller since launch. I am not the one getting the loot when spamming the A button during boss fights in public games.
Oh man. Clearly the other 7 were hacking!
Uhhh… Right here? ![]()
That was meant to be taken as a light-hearted comment, however, it does make me wonder why you defended the pickit program so strongly.
I’m not sure you know what a joke is or what they are supposed to do…
Well, at least your name checks out now.
Zing.
Man you’re a regular Amy Schumer.
