Please make this happen Blizz. This goes hand in hand with the changes you want to make for melee skills. Infinity needs to be useable in spears for melee Amazon to be a competitor.

I think they should open all polearm runewords to spears. Spears are a Pole Weapon.

Regarding runewords from an assasin perspective, they really should add more runewords for katars. With claws having only 3 sockets at best and other category limitation on runewords, there are barely any for them. Add to that the fact that a leveled assasin cant really use any other weapon efficently and no unique katars , It was a big problem when I played assasin with katars.
I agree with all your comments. Rare spears should be better and assassin needs love on weapons as well.

Just make all runewords available in all weapons and only make them differ between 1 or 2 handed weapons. This whole āspecific weaponā stuff is pretty useless IMO.

Fury and chaos claws are very common for pvp.
What about sorc orbs? Theyre in a worse spotā¦ Only runeword you can make in them is venom, which is useless.

Tread lightly. Careful what you wish for. Imagine Hoto on a Scepter with +3 Blessed Hammer and +3 Concentration, for example.
Chaos needs an Ohm rune , Fury a Jah. In all my gameplay time the highest I got is one Ist rune and one mal rune, everything other is lower. So for less hardcore players these 2 are a wet dream:). But you are right , maybe the proper way to phrase this would be āmore runes for katars ( currently there are 0) in the low-mid runes rangeā ( equaling the rune demand and weapon effectivness of runewords like obedience, oath or even spirit )
Yes this easy fix. Polearms and spears being combined as the same class.

I agree but getting to Baal would be the hard part. Just like most builds there really isnāt any risk when it comes to act bosses anyways. If thatās what it takes to make a melee focused Amazon completely viable Iām all for it.
While were on this subject, allow Call to Arms to be made in a Hammer equivalent.

YES! Absolutely needs to happen
Sorcs can use double spirit and be plenty strong end game with just that. Sure itās not an Orb, but they have options. Unique orbs are good. Spear zon canāt even wear a shield or use certain skills because they donāt work with spears. Not many spears at all cover the weakness of not having a shield, probably only Breath of the Dying. Until that though, the rest of your playthrough suffers.

Yup sacrifices will need to be made In terms of damage to stay alive. Thatās exactly why melee zon needs to be done right and infinity needs to be useable in spears.

I donāt think Infinity in a Spear would be any more powerful than any current combinations for something like Charged Strike. (After all, merc with Infinity is a thing.) You get more -lightning resist than you can get with Thunderstrokes, but you give up a shield and the ability to use Lightning Fury. So, to me it feels like something that would create an alternative without really affecting power.
Of course with the merc changes incoming, that can affect things. Say for example, thereās something that would compete with an Infinity merc for best choice for a lighting Amazon ā that would make the ability to self wield a lot more powerful.
Not just this, but let us make runewords in ANY item that has the right number of sockets. I would kill to make something amazing in the āRunemasterā ax.
