Patch 2.3 Highlights COMING SOON

It’s also just an option.
They aren’t forcing it on anyone who doesn’t want to use it.

I should clarify that I’m aware it is optional but it doesn’t change the fact it doesn’t provide much utility irrespective of use case scenario. It only really simplifies thing by at most a second.

Anything you can do with the new system can be done on the current with little difference. The biggest benefit I can see is being able to keep your primary skill on your right click while allowing you to use secondary skills without changing and even then there is such a small difference in utility.

Again, sorry, I just don’t see how you wouldn’t see the benefit. I can understand if you wouldn’t use it because the old way was the way you always done it, ingrained forever in time within your muscle memory and any alteration would through the fabric of time and space out of whack (yeah, sorry, going overboard here, lol). While I am used to utilizing the old switch of some of the classes I play, in the thick of things, or if I am switching between classes, I lose track of what buttons I have placed my skills on. Having the bar itself without the fast cast is a godsend in itself. If I have to push the button anyways to switch to the skill, it might as well just cast rather than making me go through a tedious process to BC-BC-BO-Shout-Switch back to Main Skill.

Yeah, it also lets you keep things like an aura active when teleporting, so you don’t have to keep swapping back and forth in between each teleport, same with skills like blizzard that would normally be swapped on the right click. Should be a lot less tedious.

Well, like they say in the article, nothing is set in stone yet.
Making changes to functionality is just the sort of thing a PTR is good for, so who knows, maybe they’ll improve it with feedback.

(Please note, for the die-hard Blizz haters, I said “maybe.”)

They should really allow people to put the auras on left mouse also, instead of right, so they can decide which button is the ‘active’ button. Most people prefer right as an ‘active/main skill’ button

This got deep yo lol.
But I’m at the gym right now and it’s taking me a eternity to compose a message with shakey hands. Will try to remember to elaborate later.

Yeah, with skills like Blizzard, Hydras, etc I always seen them as secondary skills to use in conjunction with a main skill; throw out a Blizzard while shooting Fireballs and so on. After 1.10, they made them into primary builds with the synergies. I never was -THAT- fast at switching skills to be able to do that myself, even as a teenager (Diablo is only PC game I play outside of FF14, which I use controller for).

LOL. but another thing, which I was going to type earlier, but got interrupted by the man I’m about to mention, the 70+ year old dad. I’ve tried showing him the skill swap system multiple times. It’s too much for his fingers to handle and his mind to comprehend (and he is not a slouch, mind you), thus he simply always just goes into the mouse click menu to switch his skills. He loves playing his Barb on D3 because of the skill bar and not having to constantly switch.

This change is huge for me. I do have arthritis and dexterity issues at times. I REALLY prefer to have my main still on left click, a second on right. Auras and stuff up in the press to activate buttons . The step where it changes to my mouse then I have to change it back is just clunky. Always was.

I find it really a huge benefit for me and am looking forward to it. I am glad it is optional though so nobody who dislikes it is forced to use it.

I have the opposite problem. I have problems with my mouse-hand wrist, so being able to offload some of the clicky load to my other hand is huge accessibility improvement for me. This is definitely a case where options are good.

Have they fixed the non-functional aura-giving items? As it is no, any inventory interaction turns the aura on/off. This is not only annoying sound-wise, it also disables the aura. So drinking potions/picking up items, moving things in the inventory disables the item aura as though it were unequipped and then a second later it reactivates.

I hope attention has been paid to this.

Low, lower, lowest, the earth’s core, Activision-blizzard.
The biggest mockery of fans since Diablo’s 20th anniversary. Thanks Acti, Thanks Blizz, you destroy Diablo genre since 2005.

p.s. You know where you can put your black friday’s 25% discount, right?

The game is busted without more character slots for online play. No other changes are more important. While the additional QoL changes are good, they don’t matter till the character limit is adjusted. They are currently rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic and hoping it distracts us from the fact the ship is sinking.

I’m going to keep bringing up aura-giving items not working as one of the main bugs that has quite literally taken my drive to play away. A core mechanic of the game is broken. What is the incentive of late game rune farming if some of the most valuable items you can obtain don’t work as advertised :frowning:

I am very happy that there are some changes and something is finally happening. Maybe a little bit of optimism instead of complaining? There is still hope for this game  At the moment I stopped playing because I get irritated by the number of tabs on items or the lack of a loot filter, but I think that showing support for developers will bring more benefits than constantly complaining;)

Please introduce:

  1. Hotkey sound mute button
  2. many more shared stash tabs and/or extra character slots
  3. start in offline if that was the last used mode
  4. fix the Zeal skill
  5. visual buffs timers
  6. fix the Bowazon
  7. fix the Merc’s pathing algorithms
  8. hotkey to reposition/recall Merc
  9. Mercs character sheet displays wrong aura
  10. easier reset all skills and stats
  11. runewords with +defense% ought to behave as magic prefix +defense% and bump armour’s defense to max

After reading these patch notes im sadden as a diablo 2 player that was excited to the remaster of the game I love so much. From not wanting to change anything to reformatting the entire pvp scene because of changes made, removing wsg, changing capable ias breakpoints ect. Game serve still suck , games drop more in ressurected then classic, game crashes more, connection issues and ftj timers. not your changing a games core functions to a more modern d3 style. Blizzard did you not get the message when no one played d3 you lost the majority of your hardcore player base dude to your dumb qol changes. Fix the technical issues at hand . Stop changing a game that this player base enjoys already were not enjoying it now.
Thanks .

I agree, a lot of stuff has been cleaned up in the last weeks. And i have a ton of fun playing the game.

But like i said, there is still a lot to fix:

  • game is still crashing (less than before but it is crashing)
  • i cant play the game the way i want, i cant to pindle after pindle or trav after trav, i have to play the way blizzard is telling me
  • ias is still broken
  • i still can move while the loading screen is up (horrible for hc)
  • doom lords still bugged
  • lobby doesnt work (no filter, no refresh)

And i think there is much more whats not in my mind atm.

Dont get me wrong, i do not want to blame blizzard, like i said, i have a lot of fun atm, but this patch is a punch in my face. This patch is nothing, 0.

Eat this: “…a special realm where we can test balance, bug fixes, and other enhancements we make to the game.

And this: “…and even more new changes coming to Diablo II: Resurrected.

This announced updates and nothing is the same thing. No fixes to new bugs, no real fix of the lobby. Relly? the mute visual effect?

You have your lobby flooded with spam bots from item shops, making it impossible to have a conversation there with other players, and you announce visual effects on muted players, this is shameful.

Where are the old channels? We need channels for making finding cow/baal/chaos runs easier, not that crappy visual effect.
