Partial refund for lost time, items, characters?

They put out a broken HD remake of a 20 year old game for $42. Why would they give you a refund for lost time?

Exactly my point.

You don’t know, thats why I asked for as source.

Where did you get 1800 hours/average D2 player?

So how can you say “Average game time for a D2 per year is about 1800 hours?”.

Based off what statistics, in what year did the “average” D2 player log 1800 hours?

Stop making things up to try sound smart, you are just embarrassing yourself by pulling magical numbers out of thin air.

Even if you did read it off some random internet site you can’t even list the source that has obviously lied to you.

It’s called estimation.

And I have no idea why this has turned you psychotic.

To Maroliver: lost time is not the only problem really though. From the original post I also lost OFFLINE character progress and items. Some completely wiped.

So essentially you are guessing with no data what so ever.

You confidently made fun of another player because they were upset about a genuine issue and the best you could do was make up random numbers and do some basic math like a Monkey to go out of your way to put him down.

Now when someone calls you out for being a jerk your best answer is pretty much I made a guess that suited my agenda to be smart.

So smug for someone that just makes things up

Where does this toxic entitlement come from? WoW is a sub model, that is why you may occasionally get some sort of reimbursement.

Do you even have fun in games?

Yes, estimation is a part of the mathematics curriculum at university, and it is the core of algorithm studies. It is especially valid to make estimations in response to bizarre posts such as this, yours included.

Are you done making a mockery of yourself in public? Can I go now?

How is this “toxic” entitlement ? I paid for a product that is meant to have fun yes…but a major portion of that fun is leveling your characters and acquiring items. If they take that away from me how is that fun?

Everyone knew that the game would have issues at launch, like all other games before it. You’re demanding $20 out of $40 for 5 hours of gameplay when you have at least 20 more years to go. What you’re demanding is borderline insane.

That’s just YOUR single opinion. I don’t think it’s insane.

Obviously you didn’t listen very much in class than, estimations are based off some sort of activity/data or uses similar games to formulate an educated guess.

We aren’t talking about a jar of candy where you can have a look at it and get a rough estimate.

You are talking about compiling 20 years worth of data and having a sample size large enough to get an average. The fact you engaged this activity to put someone else down really shows what type of person you are.

You have not provided any type of data or reasoning in how you reached 1800 hours/year for the “average” D2 player.

So at this point you are purely guessing.

Again based off what data/information did you use to formulate an educated guess of 1800 hours/year.

I see, I need to make a living out of all my arguments in order to please you.

To you…wise guy. Good luck in life

Just don’t speak then if you are going to purposely be toxic to a random online using made up numbers as your high horse.

Just don’t, the behavior is disgusting and shows how small of a person you really are to have to make things up to put others people you don’t know down.

Good, think twice before being a toxic jerk online next time.

Being a decent human is free, you don’t have to make everyone as miserable as you.

Funny because you are still being sarcastic but I can’t be bothered with you anymore, you can lead a horse to water.

If you really wanted to be a better person it starts from within.

A movie is a limited run 1 time viewing for x dollars at a certain time. A video game is a video game.

Which non-subscription based game has given a partial refund due to launch day not going as planned?

The reason WoW (very, very, very, very, rarely) refunds play time is because it’s subscription based.

You can however refund D2:R completely and be on your way.
