Either nerf these classes down to where they are as crappy as the other classes or actually do some major changes to these other classes and buff them to that level of insanity.
Bad game design is when 2 classes overpower everything else. Put a cooldown on teleport too. It’s way overdue.
You have literally let players ultimately dominate the game with speed runs and you’ve had to nerf the drops for normal speed players dramatically because of it. Teleport should have never been a thing. Giving players a way to speed through stuff should never be a thing in these type of games. It just creates a meta that if you don’t follow you’re behind.
Like my other post, it takes out the class fantasy and just flushes it down the toilet in favor for numbers over everything else. Stop pandering to speed junkies. They have single handedly destroyed this game.
I would be fine with a minor to moderate nerf of the OP skills of both the Sorc and the Paladin. This would make the needed boost to the other classes to bring them up to par that much less of a jump, while helping to balance and maintain the average progression speed through the game for all classes.
As far as Teleport, I’m not in favor of a long cooldown, however I think boosting the mana cost by around 5 times would slow the 1 point wonder teleport sorceress and enigma users down, and still allow for a few successive quick casts of teleport. It would also give incentive for the sorceress to invest more points into teleport to reduce the mana cost, thus reducing the skill point pool available for her other skills.
The sorc would have the choice of either being powerful but slower, or less powerful but more mobile.
This has never happened. The only change that happened to the drop rates was over 15 years ago, and they increased the drop rate for high runes.
The first char I roll every time isn’t a sorc or paladin, it’s a trapsin because they have dual ele damage for immunes, and are invincible with little to no gear thanks to fade. I just farm pits until I get an enigma. Use harmony bow and burst of speed on switch to run almost as fast as someone with teleport. Then I usually make a wind druid to mf with.
If you can’t afford an enigma, use najs puzzler on switch. They are easy to find and work pretty well until you can get your enigma.
Nah, I’d just quit the game or play single player on older patches. LOL! And no one I know would come back who’ve already quit.
The only solution is buffs. Nerfs will just get people to quit.
This is kind of a hilarious post. My 91 necro outperforms my 90 sorc and 85 hammerdin by a wide margin. I attribute my necro’s power to my sheer love of the class. I’m sorry but I simply don’t agree because I think that each class is as powerful as the person playing it wants it to be, with the exception of several builds they’re already addressing (albeit very weakly) in 2.4. They need to buff harder, not nerf.
the only reason you think paladin is the strongest class, is because a bunch of no brain fools build them, and effortlessly kill everything in their path.
it’s an efficient build. but the best? FAR FROM. and boring to play. anyone actually using the hammer pally is a special breed… if you know what i’m saying.
I just tried hammerdin for the first time, and holy crap, all bosses in Hell killed in 3 seconds. Now I understand how bad trapsin really is, even though I like the playstyle better I will never play trapsin again other than for replaying the campaign.
That is the problem with such un-balance, playing the weak builds feels pointless.
Or, you could realize that “keeping up” just because is ridiculous. It’s a game. Play what’s fun. But as others have pointed out, there is real power in other classes too.
Yeah same. My lvl 93 necro is a monster. Also why nerf tele when anyone can get teleport by playing and trading for enigma? Besides killing mobs is way better than just teleporting to bosses.
