Only 3 shared stash tabs was a mistake... should have been more

Yeah 20 character limit, already reached… because gotta mule everything to stay ahead in the economy… good idea…

There should have seriously been 9 shared tabs… no joke… or even more.

You need at least 10… and some mules.

1 tab for low to low-mid runes
1 tab for high-mid to high runes
1 for gems ranging from chip to flawless
1 for perfect gems.
2 or 3 for potential socket bases
1 for potential crafting items, jewels / magic amulets / magic rings.
1 for potential crafting armors like magic gloves.
1 or 2 for spare set items
1 or 2 for unique spares
1 just to house merc gear…

This is getting absurd… I literally have 20 characters created, 7 of them are just the staple 1 of each class because I might play them, the other 13 are mules already.

Like come on with this… give us more tabs.

All my stash tabs are about half full already and I only have a few characters.

Then you’re either incredibly unlucky or don’t know the value of certain items and leave a lot of valuable stuff laying on the ground…

If you know what to pick up when it drops, you should be busting at the seams…

Also I’ve already cleared Hell yesterday and have been farming Hell for about 20+ hours now… it fills up quick, trust me.

Two of my tabs are full of gems and runes. I don’t get a lot of good droos. My brother helped me out by giving me a 3 socket kite shield so I could make the ancients pledge so Id survive NM.

I think it’s a decent amount of space, and they already upgraded the amount from the previous game. It’s a good compromise, and I think you’re probably just hoarding.

The whole point is item management so that you naturally focus in and make decisions about what to keep and what to ditch. If you’re selling stuff, then you need to spend more time making sales instead of hoarding.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying… we need more space.

no we dont
what we have is plenty of space

Since we had infinite space in OG D2 this is simply not true.

its so they can charge us for stash tabs in the form of “the community asked for it so we will do it because we listen” social engineering method.

Copy/pasting my comment from another thread:

I often see people say things like this when defending the limited stash space. As if this is supposed to be a good thing.

I want to focus on killing things and looting stuff. I don’t WANT to play cleaning-out-the-garage-simulator-2000. My wife gets me to play that often enough in real life, I’m all set thanks.

Ummm . . . . with a mod

No. Base game. 1 CD key could make infinite number of accounts. Back in the day I would always end up with multiple accounts each ladder. Seriously hardcore players would end up with many accounts. Quite frankly I would rather deal with the headache of old school game perming muling, than new school hard limit.

Exactly this. The promise was expanded inventory and more space. The reality is that we have less space than what we had in legacy.

Exactly!
One entire stash tab, 100 spaces, for low-mid runes? Come on.

Yeah, it’s a good thing. The focus is not just killing and looting - if that’s all there is to think about, the game feels shallow. Needing to decide what to keep and what to discard adds another dimension to the game, aka depth. Diablo 2 should not become more mindless.

If you are really flipping out about technically having less space than legacy, then ask for more character slots, not more stash tabs. Each character has moooooore than enough space to keep a ton of stuff individually. If you guys really want to mule again, fine, but ask to mule, not to remove the dimension of some stash management from the game.

Hey it’s way better then what D2 had, lol. Stash in D2R is bigger and with 3 shared stash pages, makes it super easy to mule items. You still have mules don’t you? I have a lot less mules than I had in old D2, but I still have them.

Part of the game is item management and having to choose what to keep and what to get rid of.

You and I must have different definitions of fun. I enjoy collecting items. I dislike things that don’t allow me to collect items. I do not agree that limiting items storage adds depth. It makes low level items worthless. With more stash space low level items could have value as a way to help you level alts. But as it is now that use case does not justify their stash space. Its a shame really, it could open up more content. Having 99% of items be worthless isn’t depth, its actually the opposite of it.

Maybe it is depth when you are new, and don’t know the value of things and have to take time to appraise items you haven’t seen before. But after you have been playing for awhile it isn’t depth at all, the game has been ‘solved’ and the decision has already been made for you. The limit on storage space doesn’t actually expand the space of player decisions, it just reduces the set of items that are worth picking up.

I gave a tal mask away to a guy who rly needed it mostly because I didn’t and I needed space. Stop being hoarders, I wouldn’t mind a stash tab for runes and gems tho because I don’t even pick up most runes from countess now, just keys and mid runes or higher. My philosophy is… the better they make this game then the more people will salivate over d4… let’s face it d3 is pretty much dead and we know why. I have faith, but no expectations.

No, not with a mod. In OG D2 you could make as many accounts as you wanted on the same CD key. So you could have an infinite number of characters.

Storage space wise, D2R is a downgrade.
